I've managed to save £750 in March. I have to pay for 2 lots of car insurance, balance of summer holiday & home insurance in April but hopefully most of that is covered by the fixed expenses pot.
Keep up the good work everyone.No. 5 in the 'Save 12k for 2021' thread.

What wages are you people on that save 12k in 12 months??, on average you'd have to put 1k away each month!??. Monthly bills, rent/mortgage, shopping has to come up around £1000 and then spending money, so you'd need like a take home wage of at least £2300 each month surely???0

People may be half a couple, lettuce, which makes saving a lot easier.Save £12k in 2022 thread #7:

Also lettuce, don't forget some people are still living with parents so their 'rent/mortgage' might be little or nil. And others of us have paid off the mortgage and have more cash spare to put towards savings.
But perhaps more important, the forum welcomes everyone - regardless of how much you save.Save 12k in 2013-2014-2015-2016-2017-2018-2019-2020-2021-2022 - then early-retired.0 -

We have people on the thread with lower targets than £12,000.
The idea is to set yourself a personal challenge for the year and use the thread to log process and share ideas on how to meet it. Obviously it helps if you set a slightly stretching target to maximise what you can save.
We've had people who try and generate income in other ways to add to their pots- ebay sales, odds jobs, overtime, company share schemes etc etc.0 -

Well Done to everyone
I don't want you all to think I've disappeared but I can't save anything now until May, so a 2 month break due to circumstance but then I'll be saving a little extra to get me to my target!2018
