Looks like we broke the £100,000 mark for March too!

Keep this up and we'll smash £1million collectively by Christmas :j

You've been added to the spreadsheet! :) have you got any savings totals for Jan/Feb/March to add?

Current savings are £2329 so will start from this month with a goal of £5000 for the end of this year :)

Declaring £2,378 for March...I'm really enjoying living back in the little cottage as we can save so much every month!!!!! We are also over paying the mortgage and I am saving another £250 into my regular saver each month. This is set aside for a new car this year and although included in my total 'saved' each month isn't included in the new house fund.

First holiday of the year lined up over Easter and we are heading down to Dawlish over the bank holiday and great to hear the news of the railway re-opening today!

I save at least £1,234.56 (just to make it slightly fun per month). Deducting money spent on hols and dental work. I should just get to 12. Currently I've managed about £3,500...
  • Hi

I'd like to join the challenge, but have a question...

I'll be (seriously) saving for the first time ever, so it's going to be a real change in lifestyle and mindset! But, I know I have a large bill to pay in June which will wipe out most, if not all I've saved up til that point.

I need the discipline of regular reporting, but will I be messing up your figures if I report my savings each month and then draw everything out in June and then start again? Does that make sense?

I'm hoping to net out at about £1,000 by Dec, which would be a huge achievement for me.

So, could I join on that basis?

That's fine by me :) so what do you want your target to be?

    Thanks Slowlyfading :)

I think I'd like to aim for a clear (ie, not committed to anything) £1,000 savings by the end of Dec. I think 2014 will be my 'learning curve', so that I can prove to myself that saving is possible :o.

    Thanks :)

  • My savings to end of March were: £124.12 :).

I've already transferred my savings for April to my saver account, but also have a projected overspend on my current account by the end of the month. So, the challenge will be to reduce or wipe out the projected overspend through being frugal and generating additional cash. I love a good challenge!
