Frustrating time with new Asda mobile sim

Cheers Warhead, I'm already with 3 on the one plan and can't fault them at all, this Asda mobile number is just a second number that I use when I'm out at work ect in a phone that it don't matter too much if it gets knocked about.
Just finally spoken to them and they are going to escalate this now to the engineering team and call me back, so for now I'll give them the chance to try and get things sorted out. They have even just refunded the credit back to my account that I've used calling the call centre.
Once you actually do get through to the call centre the staff are actually very helpful, it's just getting through that's the problem.
I have just pointed them to this thread as well, and did mention the priority thing on the network, the conversation seemed to get moved on rather quickly. I'll give them a few days or so now and see what happens.Paul.0 -
My OH's service finally ported today to EE (a full 10 days after starting the process, which seems fairly average by other reports on here). Everything seems to work except the MMS settings, which defaulted to T-Mobile ones. Does anyone know how you can request these to be sent by text? Asda Mobile website says 'text ASDA to 40127', but this number doesn't work-it won't send!No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Macman - send Asda a message via their website contact us button and request the mms settings via a text message - this will take a week or so.
Or you can input the settings yourself - they are available at -

Thanks, I tried using the APN settings via Geek Squad, having seen it mentioned earlier on this thread. But they are for a Nokia Feature phone and don't seem to work for an Asha 201. I tried it last night before posting.
Asda contact via website:I tried using that to chase the porting process up about a week ago-never received a reply.
They also never confirmed that the port had completed by text. However, we did receive the transfer bonus credit. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I am so frustrated with the new "service" from Asdamobile.
I have two numbers with them, one I use for my small business, and the other for personal calls, both PAYG.
As I still had credit on the old system, I didn't start using the new SIM straightaway. I decided to start with my business number just before the Christmas break. I wanted to keep my original number so sent through the unique code and got a response saying it would take 2 days, so should've been completed before Christmas. However it wasn't and I thought I would make allowances for the Christmas break. Therefore phoned them on I believe 30 December. It took 40 minutes to get through, discovered neither of my numbers was being recognised, finally got through to an EE person and explained the situation to the EE person who was no help at all. I was eventually transfered to Vodafone who told me that it was my personal number which had been transferred! So far so good. By this time I was worn out as I had been on the phone for over an hour by then and had other things to do so I left it.
I missed a call on my personal line so have been trying to get through to voicemail. However, despite having the 100 minutes free credit or whatever it is, I am getting a message saying I don't have enough credit so need to do that before accessing my mail! I also find I can't access any of the other services such as checking credit balance etc. As it's 1 am in the morning don't think I'll bother trying to get through to Customer Services!
Also, still don't have a business line!
Altogether not impressed.
Having read some of the other messages, am seriously considering moving to another service because this is just a joke.
Have other people's problems been resolved now?

Still waiting for a response from them for the data not connecting problem. The problem is still the same, takes anything up to an hour to connect.
They are just a waste of time. :mad:Paul.0 -
When a significant provider fails so disastrously with regard to number porting, interrupting many small business telephone connections, surely it's time for Ofcom to take action?0

You mean, turn over in their beds and go to sleep again?!0

The transfer to EE has been a fiasco. Their free "bundle" does not allow you to contact them when things go wrong. Whose crazy idea was that? I have had to use my husband's phone.
Briefly, bought a new phone to use the new system (old phone became locked after old SIM ran out.) So today rang to top up via credit card. Soon realized the payment had not gone through. Husband rang as I could not contact them without the credit. They asked us to contact credit card (more expense). Of course no problem there. Rang back ASDA and was told there was a problem at their end and until the Teckies investigate I cannot use the new phone.
I have sent e mails but nobody replies. The whole EE thing has been a PR shambles and needs reporting to Ofcom. We have spent hours on the phone and I still do not have a mobile I can use. ASDA should be ashamed of the way they have treated loyal customers like ourselves. Can anyone suggest how to complain? Does anyone have the CEO's number/address/email?0 -
I have been with Asda mobile for several years and was very happy with it.
I am TRYING to switch to ee. What a nightmare!
I have now been waiting ten days since I received my voucher code. All I get on my screen is 'Sim not valid'.
Is this what I'm supposed to get?
I am a low user so am loath to switch to a more expensive system.
