Well needed to get something so had a hunt around on eBay and Amazon for the best prices. Found what I want for £10 on eBay for 5. Not bad when I could get them for up to £5 each. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

What did you get?"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0 -
Had a busy week or so with hospitals and Hubby not doing too good. Still maintained my frugality and living well out of freezer. Also picked up a couple of good ys's including an electric carving knife for £4.75 (half price ish) which makes joints of meat go much further. Have been watching a couple of Jamies moneysaving recipe shows and have cheered up a few meals with a bit of tweaking.
Happily everyone in the family was safe after the storm last night. the main casualities were my little plastic greenhouse and my big walk in one. The little on broke free of its moorings, shed the concrete blocks holding it down and took off. I thought it was lost but was hiding down the garden, the top is ripped but should be able to tape it back on. The big one collapsed completely and I thought it would blow away however we managed to fix that too. To be honest it could have been much worse so am quite content.
Am keeping a log of my debt busting pot and its coming on well. Hubby has promised to help where he can as it means so much to us to cut this debt to its bare bones. Craft room is well set up now and de-cluttering is making me very happy.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.

Manic day at work, but another NSD

Took lunch to work, and we had jacket spuds, a casserole from the freezer (pheasant and chorizo, check me out! :rotfl:) and peas tonight.
Working at home tomorrow, preparing for an important all day meeting on Monday, day off Saturday and travelling to meeting on Sunday, as it involves a flight and an early morning start :(Must also try to fit in a visit to small biz to see if stock needs topping up (I live in hope
) Also pay off CC which gets paid off every month.
Spend tomorrow - I need 2 peppers to make the sweet and sour pork dish I have in mind for tomorrow's dinner. Shouldn't break the bank though, and I might even have a voucher for Sainsburys which would cover them, so perhaps won't need to spend actual money
One of OH's friends came round today with a great big cake that his wife made as a thankyou present for OH helping them out when they moved recently. I might go and investigate that with a cuppa in a minute
Think I might be getting a cold

Evening Frugalites xx
Well couldn't get to uni today as trains were understandably all over the place. Thought 'well that's £13 saved on travel, can put that towards next week'. So instead went shopping with my mum for a bit of 'girls time' together!
We had vouchers for a free coffee at the shopping centre cafe so I thought I'd get us some teacakes too.
£3.80 for two teacakes!!!!!!!!!!!
Then ended up picking up a few bits and bobs foodwise and even using coupons I ended up spending £13.55 today!! Would've been cheaper going to uni :rotfl: !!!
Still - I've meal planned with all new ingredients bought today and as March is going to be a bit spendy (lots of birthdays and a night out) I could really do with stocking the freezer. Lots of cooking this weekend, then!!
Thanks for the tofu suggestions!! Managed to get two more meals out of it - had some fried with mushrooms and cheese on a bread roll with some chilli jam. Then this morning I mashed the rest and added spring onions, garlic, turmeric, missed herbs, S&P & chilli. Was a lovely savoury brekkie with some toast!
Thick HM lentil soup out of the freezer for tea and will finish here with one of my fave songs, always manages to pick me up and get me going:

Evening all,
Haven't had much time to come on here this week as started my overtime at work, get in at 7pm and going to bed by 9.30 just to keep myself going.
Realised earlier that this frugaling is becoming a habit :T
I don't have any lunch prepared for tomorrow and the first thing that came into my mind is 'no way am I spending money on a canteen sandwich!' so have rummaged through the cupboard and found a prepacked savoury rice thing that's been there months so just bunged it in the microwave and lunch is sorted!
Also having a weird craving for HM chicken & veg soup for last 3 days :rotfl: so have plans to make it in slow cooker on saturday and I've got lots of stuff in the fridge or freezer to make it....chicken thighs, leeks, potatoes, broccoli, peas, brussels, onions and whatever seasonings I want to throw in.....should make for an interesting taste! But as I'm working 8 days on the trot from Sunday it'll do all my lunches.
Thing is had I not been doing this challenge I would have called into the shop tonight and bought ingredients eveyone says should be in a traditional soup, ie carrots, swede, parsnip, celery etc but that would just be a waste of my hard earned cash!
Getting haircut on Saturday only costs £10 and then Mum is coming to visit so will have to spend on some bread buns and milk but hoping that's going to be it.
Going to see how long I can go without food shopping once saturday is out of the way as freezer is fit to busting again. I've done so much batch cooking lately that I literally cant get anything else in it (it's 7 drawers high and there's only me :rotfl:).0 -
I have 4 drawers in my fridge/freezer and 5 in my standalone (although the bottom in each is only half depth due to motors), they're jam packed full, and there's just me plus DS1 on about a half time basis (7 meals a fortnight), and OH once/twice a week.(it's 7 drawers high and there's only me :rotfl:).Cheryl0 -

Ahhh, but you wouldn't have had the girlie day out with your Mum if you had gone to Uni. And the net damage for a fun day was only 55p
