Evening Frugalites xx
OH MY GOD THE WEATHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We've been hammered up here. My hair looks like this
It's been so bad - ie scary scary wind - but still nowhere near the horrors that those in flooded areas are still going through.
nat21 and all others who are needing hugs and reassurance tonight - hope this makes you feel a little better, good to see everyone on here being supportive as usual: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7B-4Lsrx8IA

February can be a strange, tough month. The end of winter is so close but the weather is still so awful and it is still dark at stupid o clock. But the end is in sight!! We'll get there xx2014 Frugal Living Challenge

Hello! I've been out of here for a few days as I've been busy job hunting in the evenings! Fingers crossed something comes up soon, everything I've seen so far has been for more money so that would be great

I went out on Saturday night but I only spent £22 which was a lot better than expected! Since then I've spent £5.00 on my exercise class and £3.80 on a magazine.
I'm planning to go shopping on Saturday to find bits for my outfit for my friend's wedding. I'm hoping to use my M*rks & Spencer vouchers for the bag at least.
Next month is going to be an expensive one though! I have a hen do, possible christening, birthday night out, wedding, MOT and service to do. And maybe anything that might be wrong with my car!0 -
Today was a NSD but will need to go to get milk. Will use cash so will not take too much to risks are minimal. Hopefully it will be a LSD.It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

Well, my retirement date has been confirmed as 30 April :D
Congrats DawnW
I'm currently sat waiting for 2am to come around as I'm working a new once a week shift of 6pm-2am tonight to try and get some cross over with some of the team in India. I'm pooped. Problem is, I had a productive and busy day so have now been on the go with no break from 7am this morning. I'm not even vegging in front of the telly. Heck knows how productive I'll be in work tomorrow as I'm back up again at 6.30 to get to work for 9am :rotfl:
Today was definately not a frugal day but it was definately productive. We went to visit another local school as we're thinking of moving DS2 out of the one he's in now, and we then went to the nearest big town to hit the cheapie shops. We bought in some party bag fillers, a few birthday/christmas pressies that we saw going cheap in Home Bargains, 4 onsies reduced to £5 each in Primarni (2 each for both my boys), fruit and spices. Lots of bits, and all very useful. I've also bought a few other party bag bits on eBay, so should almost be done now for those (phew!). Also started off the process of looking to see if I can take an advance on my mortgage before I look at a loan for the building work - waiting to hear back on that one
Oh, and we had the plumber come over to chat about replacing our old, super ineffecient storage heater and boiler, with an A rated oil combi boiler. Woo hoo! Got a round estimate (as in, over the top ball park figure so I know what I'm working towards for that. We suddenly have a lot (financially) going on this year so it's going to be a juggling challenge, but bring it on :j
I think I may have another eyeball of my finances while I'm having a break
I think I'll go and make myself another (decaff) tea before nosing through my spreadsheets.. I realised quickly this evening that while I drink only 2 cuppas at work, I seem to be drinking loads of cuppas when working from home - so I filled a thermos

Brilliant - thank you :A"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0 -
Good morning all, hoping to pop to A1di and costc0 tonight for some food shopping, I've run out of rice which is my staple!
Had a lovely dinner from freezer and fridge last night, boiled new potatoes with defrosted Chicken Thighs fried for a while then I chucked in some frozen peppers, frozen mushrooms and peas, then the last of the white wine from the cupboard and some soy sauce, reduced it down to make a yummy sauce.
Said to the OH that his mother will have to come down soon as we've run out of cupboard wine, whenever she comes to stay she leaves half an open bottle - which I then use for cooking. :rotfl:;)LBM: NOVEMBER 2011 || debt free date:30/06/15 || The Fighting Debt Army: #442 || Frugal Living Challenge 2018 || January 2018 Grocery £1.22/£100 ||0
