Haven't spent any money today. I recovered a rocking chair seat using LO fabric and some wadding from my stash. Plus I have used stash fabric to cut out bits for a doorstop. I was going to buy a screw in the skirting board type but sewing one will save me cash.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

If I've been cooking something in the oven, when I've finished and turned the oven off, i leave the door wide open. Any residual heat then radiates into the room.0

Hiya..
Been trying to catch up with all the posts on here while feeling far to excited about the fact we are mooooving :rotfl: finally a fresh start after a crappy few years!
Money wise we will need all the help to be frugal that we can get as it's more rent & less house yet it does come with an orchard!!
All I can think of is the freedom from where we are now, it will also help DH as he's right on the doorstep for his job = HUGE fuel savings!!
I shall go back to the start when I get 5 mins & have a proper read to gather some of the fantastic ideas you all have.. Thanks

Today I went shopping for craft stuff and food for the boy's birthday. I managed to make a smashing piñata at home for free (saving £8) by using stuff around the house. I must say, it looks pretty good
Also made pin the tail on the minecraft pig(I don't know what it is either!!) for free using card from the craft box and a firing aim bunting thing with different minecraft characters on, again free, and bought some sticky shooter things for the boys to play with at the party so they can take aim
For some other materials for decoration, balloons, banners, the cake ingredients and icing, party food, main presents, a few more small presents, sweets for the piñata and his bday card, I have spent a grand total of....£16.16
Very, very pleased! The house will look great and all I need to pay for now is the boys entry fee to the climbing centre (£25ish) My budget was £50 for everything so im very pleased with myself, cant wait to see his face as he has no idea

Had a bad few days re spending. Found the b**ts sale and bought a few gifts when they had 50% saving then happened to drive past on Wednesday morning and saw the 70% savings so went in again. I now have a few presents and enough bath creams and potions to last me the year. I bought a hair dryer with hair products for the same price as I normally pay for the hair care treatment only, not sure what to do with the hair dryer. I do feel guilty having spent the cash.....:o
I had a NSD today but was driving for a few hours so used lots of fuel, no choice and I only filled up on Tuesday.
Sold my first item on eBay and have sent it off hope the buyer is happy with the item. I have made use of some of the cash by buying a great birthday present at less than half the price I have seen elsewhere. It arrived yesterday and is perfect. :j
My healthy eating has gone to pot so am not beating myself up about it, just need to start again NOW. The same with the spending I need to focus on the fact that if I see a bargain it is ok to buy it. It is typical if me start something guns blazing and then fall off the horse and stop, not this time I want to be in control.
Sorry for rambling and thanks for a great thread.

My healthy eating and exercise plans have gone to pot this week too. It is definitely tiredness that is the culprit - I have been coming home from work and struggling to do anything other than watch TV.
Today I have a half day from work so I plan to get put for a walk while it is still light and then go for a swim this evening. Healthy eating starts again NOW too.0 -
Friday again, how did that happen?!
Last nights tea was lasagne from freezer, still have half of it left so it sill also be tea tonight.im not the biggest of fans of eating the same thing 2 days in a row, but needs must & ive saved a fortune this month on groceries.im currently at around a third of what id have usually spent by now! Im usually sensible, but ive been writing a list of needed items and sticking to it, unless i see something ill need in a dsy or two then i pick it up.
Spent £12 on food yesterday, & £30 on school jumpers :-/
