The original SOA on this thread shows a payment for mortgage each month. I guess that means it wasn't paid off a number of years ago.AD March 2014

I think only £71k is owed on the mortgage. The house sale should comfortably pay off all debts - as well as the fees - and still leave OP with money left to adequately renovate/convert any new property to suit the needs of her disability. This likelihood is made even stronger by the fact that her late husband's life assurance will pay an additional lump sum. The money from that could ensure she has a much much more comfortable future. It all takes time and time is money,
money talks and talk is cheap.

god, I hope OP has someone sensible helping her sort all this out!LIVE SIMPLY * GIVE MORE * EXPECT LESS * BE THANKFUL0

That leaves 150 k....
even with her debt that would comfortable leave 100k.
I wish her luck...and a sensible parent or friend to help0 -
I just wanted to pop on and say thank you to all the people who offered me their condolences.
Life has now got to get back to normal but I am finding it hard at the moment.
I will start a new post once I can start focusing on my debts again. Hopefully soon0
