Hello Amilliondollars.
I do agree with you that, as a society, we have become somewhat cynical and oftentimes lack the basic human emotion- empathy. This, I consider to be incredibly sad.
However, have you considered ( if indeed this is all made up) the feelings of people that actually have lost their loved ones in car accidents? Or, even people that are struggling with similar issues in real life? How must they feel reading such convoluted tosh?
Also, initially, people did provide objective advice to the OP, which was dismissed, or deemed as spiteful!
Since joining this site, I've been welcomed by everyone and gratefully received some fantastic, well-meaning, objective advice. I hold absolutely no responsibility for other's posts, nor do I feel I have 'destroyed' another human being by voicing my own opinions, which by the way, I am entitled to.Everything in my life is a reflection of who I am-as within, so without.0 -
My thoughts...
Most of this was truthful until about 2 weeks ago.
She is not disabled, just lazy, too ill to do any job at all...but not able to claim benefits - ATOS are tough, but not that bad....
Advice was given and thrown back - good job he has, we wont sell, I wont sell my car.
The OP has made their bed, if its not true, they will still be in a pickle.
If it is true, the death of their ex partner who left when the going got tough will ensure she will not live in poverty any longer0 -

If they are living with any of the above, it's not convoluted tosh, it's Art Imitating Life, we see this time and time again in the Soap Operas! It will resonate with someone somewhere, which makes it all the more important to give positive advice as someone will be grateful for it.
Nothing wrong in expressing an opinion, as you can see, I am expressing mine, I am here to be helpful not judgmental.

Under no circumstances would I ever imply that, tragic life circumstances are tosh! I was referring to the information provided by the OP ( it was very convoluted.) In fact, some of it, insulted my intelligence.
Also, I truly hope that no-one would ever imitate the OP in real life!
It seems to me that, although people have tried to furnish the OP with well meaning advice, we ended up with a lot of hostility from each other. This saddens me, as I know how caring this forum is.Everything in my life is a reflection of who I am-as within, so without.0 -
If something doesn't make sense then it usually isn't true.0

If you don't trust a thread or poster, then don't post on that thread, or reply to that poster.

I had just written a long response to this and then I thought no- it is not fair to carry on this scrutiny
If this story is real or made up- we have tried to help- we have offered advice and our condolences- I see no more that can be achieved
Until someone accepts the situation they are in- we can all give advice until the cow comes home but nothing will be achieved or fixed until you face up to reality- I think this case should be closed xx0 -
I have been sorting the funeral. It is next tuesday.
I cant believe how vile people are on here. I hope that if anything like this happens to you, you dont have people accusing you of lying.0 -
With yet more risk of sounding blunt... I'll continue to give you the benefit of the doubt, if not just for the benefit of others reading the advice on this thread:
How are you paying for the funeral?
Have you contacted his Life Assurance company? It all takes time and time is money,
money talks and talk is cheap.

How did you afford a taxi for a 100 mile journey and a hotel for all those nights.
Does he have any death benefit with his employer.
Now you can empty the joint account...
Do you now intend to sell the house and make a new start0
