Forgive me if this has already been suggested, but why doesn't she just report it to the RSPCA?

    ...........
RSPCA not interested in investigating the welfare of this cat.

  • Oh dear :o. I wonder why not? I guess my cat's mystery benefactor was good at exaggerating.

and yes the woman said cat was 19, man said it was 17

EDIT: The man also said they had the cat from a kitten and it never been inside, always lived outside

My husband wouldn't know how old our cat is and ours is only six, so less years to get confused by, it just wouldn't occur to him to remember. I don't think there is anything sinister in it.

It all sounds very plausible to me. The RSPCA aren't interested, the cat has lived to a good old age, the owners have a very valid story and it's a very good point about not mixing diets, I'd really leave be.

My cat has similar fur, very fine and very fluffy and it matts very easily. I found a few substantial knots on his legs where we'd missed and considering he's brushed every other week I was surprised.

My friend fed the cat this morning before work - did not see anyone around, cat all purring and seeking cuddles.

She went to feed it again in the evening, the man (owner) pulled up in his van, seen her with stroking and feeding the cat, did not stop or said anything just went indoors.

I just ordered more cat food to be delivered to my friend.

    For now.

So how much more proof do the doubters on here want? The owners clearly do not give a stuff.Probably pleased they can cut down even more(if that's possible) on what they feed the poor creature. In a short time that cat has grown to know and be affectionate with the one person who cares enough to feed and stroke it.

Just shows what little affection it has had in the past.It is a miracle it wants anything to do with humans after such lack of care.

Once again thank you getting ready and your friend. You are both angels in a cruel and heartless world for making a difference in the life of one lonely cat ,starved of affection and food.I hope it's life can change soon for the better.

Also - friend managed to get through to RSPCA again today. This time they took the details (both hers and the cat's address) and said they will get back to her within..... 28 days.

I guess this is better than nothing?

Huh.I doubt there would have been much TO investigate after 28 days if your friend wasn't feeding it now.

They should have gone when it was first reported.

Makes you wonder whether it really is on special food then, as if that was me and my cat needed certain food, and a woman who knew this was continuing to feed it the wrong food i'd be livid.

It doesn't really sound like he gives a toss from the info on here.

Also if that was me and i'd pulled up seeing the same person again with my cat I would be taking the time to talk to that person, to either tell them to get lost and leave my cat alone, or to reassure that everything was ok and what the cats routine involved etc and no need to worry etc.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

So, this so called owner sees someone feeding his cat who is on a 'special diet' and ignores them?

and RSPCA will take action in 28 days? sorry to be blunt, but it could be dead by then!
