    Grubby mingers! LOL!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Yes after reading your comment regarding it, this thought did come to my mind :rotfl: However I must point out in their defense the cat does not eat the food that is left straight away, I am sure the bowls are cleaned and put straight back, they do not look dirty. I do not want anyone telling me their cat needs help, it is certainly not neglected, it just prefers to live outside.

This is exactly the point I was trying to make about her friends 4 large dogs in a small flat. To many people that would be an absolutely awful situation.

So does my friend herself - sadly she had no control about a fire that started next door to her much bigger, 2 story flat and made the roof collapse making her and her dogs homeless. So what you are saying/comparing is utter rubbish.

I'm not suggesting that your animals actually are neglected, I'm suggesting that some well meaning but misguided person could decide they are, and decide to wait until they're unsupervised and take them to be 'rehomed with someone who'll care for them'. Nothing you say would convince them that they aren't absolutely justified.

How would you feel, please answer.

My pets are never left unsupervised and anyone seeing them could not for one second think they are neglected in any way.

THAT cat looks terrible and shows all sign of being neglected, this is not in my head - photos are on this thread.

You are looking at this situation as "cat - someone's property". I am looking at it as "cat - a living creature".

And that is why we will never agree.

Did the cat come trotting to them when they were talking?..as in did cat and owner seem interested in each other?

    .

Nope. The first time when my friend saw the woman - the cat dd not react to her and the woman did not act bothered by my friend feeding her cat.

Today, cat was busy eating the food my friend put down and was not interested in man who opened the door and the man did not call the cat.

The cat always runs to my friend when she is at the bus stop - THAT is why she noticed it, its condition and started feeding the cat.

No, it is about perception. You know your friends circumstances but to someone else it could appear that her dogs would be better off re-homed.

gettingready, some years ago when I posted about a neighbour trying to steal my cat you said that cats will move on to a better home if they are not happy/well fed/cared for.

Do you still stand by that and, if so, how do you explain this cat staying with his owners for the last 19 years?

Care to answer this, whilst you're on a roll?:D

My friend would be more than happy to explain her situation to anyone, she has valid reasons for living where she lives with her 4 dogs on a temporary basis.

She had a choice of leaving dogs in kennels and herself living rent free in a council B&B or looking for a place where she can be with dogs and pay for it very dearly and believe me it is not easy to find somewhere with 4 dogs BUT she wanted to have her dogs with her and she has.

Cats are teritorial - perhaps this cat is used to his/her teritory as it seems to have no relationship with the owners. I do not know BUT I know the cats does not look well and his/her situation does not look good and with weather getting colder the cat may not get his/her promised shave at after easter.

Now, since you 2 are so clearly not concerned about the welfare of that CAT but rather try to have a go at me/dig a hole under me - I am happy to let you know I will not be replying to your (Frugalista and Person One) comments on here.

Your choice if you want to waste your time to keep on having a go at me in one way or another.

What did strike me as significant was, when questioned the owner said they were getting the cat shaved after Easter. If they had not planed this to be the case surely they would have replied along the lines of yes we will get that done soon. When put on the spot I doubt they would have had time to think up a reasonable time (ie when the weather gets warmer) for shaving to be done, it must have been something that was already planed.

I thought of that too. But then again - if the cat was inside it would not be that matted/dirty. I have seen some proper ferral cats in my life but not looking that bad. Also, if the cat looked like that due no interest in grooming itself but was being looked after/cared for there would be no issue about shaving the matts off regardless of the weather as the cat would be snuggled up indoors.

Did the man see the cat eating? It does seem odd if it is on a special diet like they claim that neither of them were bothered about it eating other food.
