Been working hard on Swagbucks tonight. 250 points earned, so I'm up to 373. I'm going to try and save for a £50 Amazon voucher on there as it's less points than 10 x £5 vouchers. If I can get £50 in Feb and £50 in March, I'll be very pleased.

Meds done so I'm off to bed.

    Night night xx
  • Sounds like a great plan, Emz.

Good luck with your bed fund:beer:

Having said that I personally wouldn't buy something as crucial as a bed without both OH and I lying on it and testing it/something very similar first.

I can't buy shoes without trying them on first (I've got odd feet:eek:). I know you can return stuff ordered online but I'd still rather go to a real shop and try on as many pairs as I like in various widths and sizes. That way I always get a perfect fit even if I may have to spend a minimal amount extra on them.

    Hi CBC :)

I'm exactly the same with shoes - need to try them before buying. I'm not too fussed about beds to be honest and my OH is the same. I can pretty much sleep on any mattress, we just need a bigger bed.

OH's aunt and uncle bought their bed (well, 2 singles) after trying it in the shop, but they hate it and want to get a replacement, so I don't think you can always tell what it will be like actually sleeping on it from just laying on it in the shop for a couple of minutes IYSWIM.

On a different subject, I've been watching the Davis Cup matches last night and tonight. Didn't James Ward do well to beat Sam Querrey? Fleming and Inglot have just won a set off the Bryan brothers too (still losing 2-1 though).

    Evening :)

Had a nice day with OH. We went into town because OH had to take some shoes back that he bought last week (shame too because they were a bargain, but they just didn't fit him properly). He took me to lunch in a buffet type restaurant. They served lots of different cuisines, but after I ate something that was a bit too spicy for me, I stuck to the pizza and chips ;)

Slim pickings for surveys over the weekend, but I have reached 610 Swagbucks. I worked out I need to get 300 a day in February to get a £50 Amazon voucher, so I'm just over a day ahead of myself.

Nebuliser and bed for me I think.

Lucky couple being able to sleep on any kind of bed:j.
I like a firm mattress and OH likes to sink right in! I tell him a slightly firmer bed is better on the back but he won't budge much. We sleep on a really soft mattress when staying with my sister and I'm tossing and turning all night and end up really achey after a few nights of it. That's unusual for me as I am a pretty good sleeper at home where we've compromised on a mediumish firmness. Whatever bed we buy is a compromise though and I'm dreading the next bed purchase which will involve hours traipsing round the shops:eek: The current one is getting past it, we both tend to roll towards the middle! OK when you are in the first flush of a relationship;) but at our age and stage of life it's just plain annoying:(

I'll have to check if those zip-together beds can be bought in different firmnesses for each half. Would be perfect for us:j

P.S. Have been watching the Davis Cup too. Our lads did well to take a set off the Bryans, I don't suppose anyone ever expected them to beat them. Andy is probably playing again today. Should beat Querry with no problems.

    Hey everyone

    Firstly, I've started a new diary (I know, I'm sorry :o)

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4887624

Secondly, I've knocked the bed fund on the head. We are still going to get the bed, but surveys aren't a very profitable way of doing it. I can earn triple of even quadruple the money on the questions compared to the time it takes to do a survey. I just realised I was wasting my time.
