Morning

All meds done. I'm getting more used to the disgusting one. I gag at the start of each dose, but once I've got the taste in my mouth, I'm fine with the rest of the tablets. I've also got the time it takes me down from an hour to 15 minutes.
Need to wash my hair this morning as didn't get the chance last night. Then I better get on with some work.

Sorry about your bed problems. there's nothing worse than poor quality of sleep when you don't feel well anyway. Good luck in getting it sorted.
Incidentally, I used to help out at weekends at a family friend's independently-owned furniture business until recently. I used to love it but when they reired and sold the business the new owners didn't require my services. I only did it to help my friends when they were busy (didn't receive a 'wage', just commission on sales so I was pretty cost-effective).
There ARE very expensive beds about (craftsman made etc with all the bells and whistles and made of superior materials). We didn't stock them but could obtain them for customers as special orders. I once sold a bed (lovely commission:j) that we had to order specially from a superior company and it took 3 months to be made and arrive!. It cost around £2400 if I recall it correctly (it was about 5 years ago).
I doubt Argos would sell the absolute top-quality beds as they need to sell in volume so need to stock what most of us could afford. I don't doubt the high prices that have been mentioned on this thread though as such pricey beds are available in several outlets.0 -

Hi CBC
We have looked at getting a really big bed and that was a lot of money, but OH's aunt and uncle are just looking at bog standard beds. The one we saw yesterday was nothing special and I certainly wouldn't have paid over a grand for it.
If they did pay that much, they were definitely conned.
Oh, to be able to spend over 2 grand on a bed........ :rotfl:

I so agree!!!!
Wish we'd bought some furniture (especially a new bed) when my friends still owned their business and I was helping them out. We would have been able to buy at 'trade' prices too but, being skint, even that was beyond us in those days:(0 -
So, I've found this on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hf4You-Kingsize-Memory-Mattress--Drawers/dp/B00EJAXGVM/ref=sr_1_11?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1391158766&sr=1-11&keywords=kingsize+bed#productDescription
And it got me thinking. Can I save £300 in Amazon vouchers to get a free bed? I managed to save £180 towards my old bed in my other flat (which meant it cost me £20), so I'm sure if we can wait a few months, I can get £300 saved.
I was saving for my spirometer, but I can always get that at a later date as it won't actually improve my health, just monitor my lung function.
So, my free bed challenge begins. I'm already off the mark with the £47.31 I've got sat in my Amazon account.

Hi Emz..sorry I haven't been around for a little while....But I always read, even if I can't Reply....
I think it's appalling that your relatives were trying to fleece you for a bed!! Why they couldnt have given it to you or at least given it to you for a nominal fee of £50 or something like that....
I think it's great that you're planning on paying for a new Bed with Amazon Vouchers...go for it hun!!0 -

Hi Helen - I wondered how you were, hope you're doing okay?
It doesn't really surprise me when it comes to OH's family. I will show them - we will get a better bed for free

Eeek - OH likes the bed and has thrown the gauntlet down to get enough vouchers by 31st March
That's 60 days from now (including the 31st). I make that £5 a day, but then I've already got a 10 day buffer (nearly £50).
Doable? I think so

I've been thinking of how I'm going to get these vouchers. So far, I reckon I could get:
£50 - Swagbucks (5 x £5 in Feb and March)
£63 - Opinion World (regular surveys and they payout in £3 lots)
£30 - My Survey (6 x £5 vouchers - regular surveys)
£20 - Valued Opinions (2 x £10 vouchers)
£10 - Ipsos (possibly £20, but I do find they take a while to build up on there)
£10 - Pinecone (Possibly more, but they aren't that regular, although surveys are worth £3 each)
£10 - Just The Answer (2 x £5 vouchers - not regular surveys, but I'm nearly up to £5 already)
So that makes £193 from that lot, which would bring me to £240, leaving £60 to find.
Which sites have I missed that pay in Amazon vouchers? I know To Luna and Global Test Market do, but they are so slow in paying that I don't think I would get them in time. They take ages to build up too and I'm nowhere near payout on them.
Any others people can think of?
