how have I only just noticed this:eek:

But sometimes, what else can you do?
I was told to go to reception to make an appointment to discuss how Aethelbald will make his entry into the world. When I did so, the earliest appointment she offered me was 30th May, which is quite a long time after the issue will have resolved itself (12th or 14th May, depending on how you count).
She got all huffy, said it was the first appt available, and I had to go and drag the midwife out again to sort it.
The receptionist was being tactical. If you have not chosen anything then you cannot be disappointed when you do not get it.
Is this about location - a home birth/maternity unit decision - or elective C vs the other route.0 -
I
It was almost worthy of the "have a look at this" thread (except I am a bit uncomfortable with that).
I actually love that people have personalised their houses so. It makes me happy and I wish more would do it instead of risk 'damaging their investment'. I probably would paint a lot of them white for sale though. I even like some pictured.
Edit: mind you I like aethelbald.
DH stuck in London and I am home with coiffed blonde hair and no DH to admire it.0 -

Do you like that one?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Anyone got any idea how much postage/shipping to the US is?
I agreed to send a couple of wolves tops to someone. Just wondering what the cost is likely to be.It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Lots..
(I send a box to the states every now and then.....Christma time one of the boxes postage was more than value in monetary terms than gift by a long chalk. )
There is a postal costs comparison site if you know size and weight of package and put in address.0 -

Er... no offence meant.:D
I like dead words, and feague is funny - finding out what 18th century horse salesmen would get up to.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

I love this, especially as the pic is so good.
I am paranoid about pics these days, but DH and I have a few selfies we send each other through the week.....'like my hair?' Or 'is this suit/shirt/combo good d'ya think'. Because I rarely edit my photos I have a bad build up which I should go and delete.0 -
I'm in London on the 25th of next month and may be able to meet up (childcare provision working out dependant) if anyone is available.....would only be a quick thing though as we are at a concert in the evening.
That's a Friday, isn't it? Afraid I'll be working. We just need a bit of imagination...there could be the help LJ move meet up
Excellent idea. If he's planning to do it himself with a van and lots of boxes, then he'll need lots of friends to help. Although he may have plenty of RL ones who are more local than most of us. I've lost count of the number of friends I've helped move like that (although mostly quite a long time ago) and who helped us with moves too.
I'm up for that, anyway, as long as it's a weekend, or in school holidays, or on a Monday, or at a push even a Wednesday.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Our doctors has a new policy, you are supposed to tell the receptionist what it is you want to see tyhe doctor about. One of rthe receptionists is a parent of a child in DD2's class. I bet this policy reduces the number of appointments per patient considerably.
I am feeling a little nervous. At work whilst waiting for excel to calculate or access queries to run I quite often have a browse of MSE, probably not supposed to but if they can't give us decent equipment then do they want me to sit staring into space? Anyway today they have blocked MSE which makes me think they may also have notice how much I have been online so I am wondering what the consequences will be....I think....0
