Oops! Forgot to tone it down a bit :o Was a little tipsy, in high spirits after a fun evening catching up with friends, and had spent the last part of the evening practising some gentle flirting :)
Last night was so nice that I'm still in a good mood now, and its not even the weekend yet!

Glad you had a lovely time. You are still among friends here. No need to tone anything down. :)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

BTW, DD's hair is approximately its normal colour this morning, but where her parting is, the skin is a lot pinker than it ought to be.

Let me know if you need someone to go with :) The ginger chicken udon is my favourite, but it has been quite a long time. You should go once, for the experience if nothing else.

I don't have too many proper packing boxes, but I have a fair number of cardboard and Tesco blue boxes. And a car. I'm quite practised at packing and moving too :)

    :j:D
PN is busy earning ATM but she might be able to take a day off for something too.
I suspect that easter may now be out for me, but don't write me off completely!:)

    Dang...;)

One of the best experiences is catching up with friends. I went to a mates stag session last saturday, & just having time to sit & chat with friends who I hadn't seen for (in some cases) quite some time was fantastic!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Flipping exhausted. I was awoken by snoring at 4:30am (I'm far too gallant to say who it was) .

In our house such a situation would be referred to as purring.

Reframing from 'snoring' creates less upset for both parties.

Unfortunately there is someone in this house who manages (womanages?) to 'purr' quite enthusiastically most nights.

The only way I've ever managed to cope with snorers is to remember that they die young.

I'm in London on the 25th of next month and may be able to meet up (childcare provision working out dependant) if anyone is available.....would only be a quick thing though as we are at a concert in the evening.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I have posted about my brother in the past, he has some major challenges, frequently as a consequence of his long term drug use.

Life has also dealt him some very nasty cards. At no time has he ever admitted the drug addiction. However at Christmas he joined a programme for addicts, and he has been drug free over the last month or so.

Despite the chaos he can cause, his neighbours like/tolerate him. I am exhausted by him and keep my distance. This morning my sister called and recounted a new episode.

Last week he answered the door to a neighbour who said their baby had stopped breathing, an ambulance was on its way. My brother administered CPR, resuscitated the infant and kept going until the paramedics arrived.

He has cards up and letters from the baby's grateful parents, grand parents and other neighbours.

He told my sister that this feels like it was meant to be, as had he been 'off his head' he would not have answered the door however frantic the knocking.

Baby is now out of hospital with many monitors as it was due to a fit with no prior history.

Good on him for this but nothing really changes. Bad people do good things and good people do bad things.

Maybe this is a positive reinforcement for your brother to stay clean. I wouldn't count on it (I know a fair bit about addiction 1st and 2nd hand) but we should live in hope.

I was wondering earlier if yours and spirits days off match for something in the future? And sometimes I think bugslet might come down 'this way'.

I do from time to time! I have even been known to invent a work excuse..... ahem.

Wow Spirit, that's fabulous! I hope it proves to be the motivation he needs to stay clean.:T
