I can't remember when it was but it was about carving up rooms and creating spaces to function for certain uses and not just accepting that each room would be a square thing.

She may have referenced a Sarah Beeney show too? Or that may have been OH as he has been OCD-ingly watching her extension show.

Think I may have found it! Not sure though, as the thread is 246 pages long and I am on page 2. It has mentioned Sarah Beeney already.

I must confess I also watch Sarah Beeney's 'extensions' with a near OCD intensity. :o

The beach hut isn't at Brighton. I know Brighton beach very well and there's far too much sand there for it to be Brighton.

This is where I'll be on Xmas day:

I'm there every Xmas day. The road to the beach has the same name as me and the beach itself has the same name as my son!

I think I posted it before.

I'm thinking about looking for a new job. Whaddya reckon? Would you quit a job you liked for a 50% pay rise? I think that's what I could get.

    It depends...

    1. Jobs that pay 50% more will generally involve greater sacrifice in terms of time spent away from home. How will you and your family manage a change in work/life balance?

    2. Will you have the same degree of job stability, perhaps after a qualifying period? How important is that to you?

    3. With a bit of time and effort, will you achieve the same where you are, in an environment you know you like?

    4. You have spoken in the past about coping with other issues. Are you sure you can do this if it is a job you don't like?

If you sail through these questions with a "sure, no problem" then why not go for it? If they make you stop and think, then you need to ask yourself what is best for you.

Can't avoid it any longer, got to go out to pick up some presents ... not much as it's difficult to buy for somebody in a home with dementia as they have a limited ability to do anything with gifts and very limited space to put anything..... so off to find a bunch of "stocking filler" type presents. They have to be things she can use, so limited to a calendar, some pens, some sweets really.

It's a 30 mile round trip ..... and I'll be OK once I'm there, it's just that "get up and go" to actually get up and go.

    I'd take a 33% pay cut to do a job I liked...if I didn't have the family to support

DW decided she didn't fancy church so we are having a lazy morning. So far D~K and I have cooked eggs together and I'm about to have a shower...and yes this scale of lie in and lazy morning does deserve a post.
    I think....

    We're back!

Me and James arrived back nearly an hour ago now, lovely easy run with no hold ups...apart from when we got to his halls and needed someone to open the blooming gate to the car park.

James has lost so much weight! He barely had any meat on his bones before, now he looks so skinny.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Lydia, I shall dig out a blanket to
Put over my car seat. Very embarrassed! Cleaning the car today would be foolish, its howling wind out there!

Just caught up as you were all very chatty yesterday.

We too have long thin house with little indoor storage. We carved a bit off the back of the garage and have utility and a pantry in there. It is detached from the house so involves a sprint in the rain to pantry/washing m/c /outside loos/spare fridge/cat litter/wellies.

I have a shed which is mine and tidy. We have two stables, one is home to bunnies the other has a large tack box, garden furniture, old electric fencing and other outdoor clutter.

The garage has my off the road MG in it and OH clutter in it. It also has a very nice dressing table in there that I do not want to part with.

We have an antique desk which i do not want to lose either which we have to move out of the house too.

Loft is full of clutter, some of which is boxed up since 1985.

Yesterday OH was looking up the cost of rented storage space:(.
