Yeah, the blood test for anemia is very easy, and might as well get vitamin D deficiency test and general blood tests as well (unrelated but most people in the uk are vitamin d deficient at this time of year)

I had anemia myself and it was vile...

Diet is important but there is only so much iron supplements and diet can do...

I don't think I had that pleasure, but have been informed in detail about my mothers diverticulitus ( sp? ) and calcium induced constipation which was a pleasure to discuss.

I find the whole thing of health and bodies fascinating.

Unless. The bodies are my parents' :o

In fact despite saying I didn't want to see doctors I am seeing GI in march, the secretary phoned to make the appt. I like GI , he's funny, and we laugh. He still thinks its funny I said it tickled. Everybody laught and he said no one has ever said that before, he said ouch or bloody hell or a defeated wimper or silence were more common. Me I giggle and say 'that tickles.....'

If I were in nikksters shoes I'd definitely want it checked.

I'll definitely be asking. I feel the GP and I know each other well enough.

I told this story when it happened:
GP: Do you have any regular partners?
Me: No. (Then hastily added) I don't have any irregular ones either!

He definitely looked much more embarrassed than me :)
We're definitely familiar enough for me to make a polite request.

From my point of view they are all the same difficulty, They stick, I bleed. Small differences might be in how much I am expected to perform!

Ah, then he wasn't embarrassed, he was amazed at the lack of paramours and your iron will at resisting the attention he is sure you get. :)

Well, I mean easy compared to a colonoscopy, for example. Which isn't that hard, as such, except for the emptying your bowel part... ( hint: take a newspaper)

Nikkster if its the obvious one, I had that before I knew I was pcos, and the reverse where you just don't stop for a while. They just chuck pill at you to try and re jig cycle as the first line treat ment. Or used to.

I had to go private to get my endometriosis diagnosed...well after the GP mucked about for 6 months giving me all sorts of things for completely the wrong thing!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
