lir, you were wanting to find light fittings with translucent tubes and the light inside them. How does this look? (Imagine it not being dusty! :o)

    20140221_204324.jpg

The whole light fitting has 6 of them. I did take a picture but it has my friend's face in it. Every time I try to crop the pic, either before or after uploading to photobucket, it looks as though it's worked but then it nevertheless puts the original uncropped version into my post. Why is that and how can I stop it doing it?

Would that appeal at all? They're quite old and probably not being made any more, but the friend in whose house I have just snapped them is about to replace them with something different, and I thought of you.

Ummm better not quote that pic. I haven't asked her permission to put shots of her house online, and I've been recommending she takes a look at MSE for money tips! So I'll be deleting soon. :o
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

And while I'm in the swing of uploading pics, here are some I took of the Somerset levels a couple of weeks ago:

    rUK plus Hamishland!
I did originally get the notion that this thread was based on a triangle with the base being the south coast and the vertex in the West Midlands. But bugslet and yorkie1 and others have shown me there is more of a spread.

Come to think of it.....there's no regular posters these days from the other three home nations.

    Me too.

Though if either of lydia's children decide they want to be superted, I do have a costume (including a bear hat thing with ears and some bear paw mitts) that I made. It was one of the few things I requested custody of - after all it was handmade by MY hands!

Only this very night have I liked on fb a picture a small boy dressed as "superted". He looked angelic. Think every superlative.

He is 4 years old and has just slept for the first time in a room of his own. A big deal for him and his mum. We are going to send him something to reward his achievement.

It was sad too though, in his new room, on a chest next to his bed he has photo of his dad. His dad died before he was born. OH and I were undone. Another happy/sad moment.

I might have seen a komodo dragon although I suspect it wasn't big enough to count.

This thing was probably 6' nose to tail and very lizardy.

I slept through the night without waking up stressed last night for the first time in weeks at least, maybe months. It was brilliant.

Spending an hour on google trends is a good way to get depressed about the ignorance of society.....

    And....

Those kitten statistics are all me. The peaks reflect when I have been especially down, and it has been a bit quiet on the NP thread.
