I came in and started uploading the photos ..... then made toast... and ate it ... and posted .... and created a couple of new albums ..... and checked the photos uploading.... three times.... and now I just timed them.
They seem to be uploading at the rate of about one/minute .... so a bit slow0 -

So I just bought a copy of a painting from the national gallery as a stretched canvas.
I'm going to frame it ( i think, i know its going to make it even deeper but want it quite deep and boxy). Then I want to put it on a bracket/ hinge of some sort and put it in front of the kitchen tv on the wall so I don't have to look at the ugly thing anymore unless its on, when I can "open" the painting.
Anyone know what kind of bracket I would need for this purpose?
Alternatively, display a picture of the painting on the TV and forget about the rest?
If you insist on doing it your way, it depends a lot on how you have mounted the TV. Can you post a picture? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Turns out there's nothing wrong with Susan Boyle, the singer. No brain damage at birth at all... misdiagnosed. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2520258/Susan-Boyle-discovers-Aspergers-condition-went-undetected-half-century.html
Just a regular oddball0 -

Hinged, like a door.
You can get TVs that are mirrors when not switched on.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I think it is flawed. Too many people are getting the equal result.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Something like this perhaps:

Providing you don't still have a CRT I guess...
Recently I saw a solution where you have a mirror, then turn the mirror on and it becomes a television. I found that very strange. I guess in five years TV/mirror solutions will be commonplace and I will wonder what all the fuss was about. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I think I linked those mirrors a couple of npts ago.
Our local has one, and I know a couple of people who have them in homes.
Personally, I'd be happy to stick my tv in a cupboard. But we have the tv's we have. I hate the big tv but its what we have got ( its parents) so I have to find a way to live with it.
Edit.....
Wow....way more spphisticated than I was thinking! I never knew something like that existed ( noone else gets upset about art above fireplaces obviously, lol)
I was thinking just a lbracket that opened to one side!0 -

My knee is not happy post operation. One of the wounds was bleeding a bit yesterday and is very uncomfortable (it isn't infected or anything but the incision was made right across the back of the knee so couldn't be in a worse place). I'm supposed to do 2x 20 minutes of walking a day but any walking just opens the cut up. It is annoyingly painful and I haven't managed to get to sleep at all on any of the three nights since (that I have to wear a pair of anti embolism stockings is not helping either but at least they make me feel more masculine).
As a result I have spent most of the days sleeping and am now nocturnal. An unfortunate side effect of this is that I have been awake throughout the entirety of the 2nd ashes test which has not been a pleasant experience.
I have also noticed that, for the last two nights, planes have started coming over into heathrow at 4.30am which is an hour earlier than normal. Perhaps something to do with the air traffic control problems.0
