My knee is not happy post operation. One of the wounds was bleeding a bit yesterday and is very uncomfortable (it isn't infected or anything but the incision was made right across the back of the knee so couldn't be in a worse place). I'm supposed to do 2x 20 minutes of walking a day but any walking just opens the cut up. It is annoyingly painful and I haven't managed to get to sleep at all on any of the three nights since (that I have to wear a pair of anti embolism stockings is not helping either but at least they make me feel more masculine).

As a result I have spent most of the days sleeping and am now nocturnal. An unfortunate side effect of this is that I have been awake throughout the entirety of the 2nd ashes test which has not been a pleasant experience.

I have also noticed that, for the last two nights, planes have started coming over into heathrow at 4.30am which is an hour earlier than normal. Perhaps something to do with the air traffic control problems.

Sorry to hear you are not on the mend as quick as you would like.

According to another forum, overnight flight restrictions have been lifted an hour earlier than usual due to the problems they had.

Chewie, you have my deepest sympathy - I just put my fingers over my eyes and hum loudly whenever the sport comes on.
Back. Well, tried to take some random snaps, but in Mr T's that's tricky if you're trying to not fall over, hold your shopping list, hold your phone (not in a case), push a trolley and do your shopping, all while not looking "odd" taking photos of things.... so I quickly gave up the ghost there.

Then I took some snaps from a cliff edge.

But, as I am conscious of looking a loon ... and many people are suspicious if you're [a] taking their photo (they think) or loitering like a mugger waiting for them to ferkoff..... so, overall, quality's probably dire.

Can't tell until I've uploaded them, which is occurring right now....

Had toast... so that was lunch.

In our local Sains you can use your phone to scan your shopping as you go then just pay at the end like the scanner you get in Tesco but after it failed near the end and I had to check out normally I decided it was easier just to shop as normally and holding the phone as you do round does make it much harder to push the trolley.
Here is what's round the back of my local Lidl.

It appears that most of the time I am not holding my cameraphone straight... most are a tad wonky, so would need rotating 2-3% and cropping. This photo's passable though

I've also got a photo of my left nostril where I'd finished using the camera and had the phone in my hand, but accidentally touched the screen.

Good advert for your new phone. DW would like a new one but she has a perfectly good camera android so would need to go into 400 quid territory to have a reasonable improvement.
    I think....

It's probably how I envisaged it, but better than I expected it .... and I'll very shortly, no doubt, be disappointed by the fact it's not a 50megapixel camera with 20x optical zoom for £5.

I took that photo directly into the sun, just to see how it would come out; I expected a big white blob to be honest.

I probably need - and can probably get - a spiritlevel app :)

I was also half testing how many snaps I could take before the battery ran out. Wasn't too shabby. Phone wasn't fully charged when I went out, took 52 snaps, it's now at 68%

Just to clear up some confusion from the last thread (wasn't online yesterday evening) ...

I had to have a new photo taken when we moved offices a couple of months ago.

Owing to the harsh overhead lighting (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) I have a bald spot and a beard

    Yorkie1 I visualise you as a woman. Am I wrong?:o
Shows just how bad the lighting is........

    Female, definitely!

Should have read "looks as though I have ... " :rotfl:

Remove the tides,, cold, shipping lanes and jelly fish - and I could easily swim the actual distance. Unfortunately, those aspects are not removable :)

I went out, took 52 snaps,

OH also went out to take photos this afternoon. DD has been looking after her Ex's horse for the last three weeks and she wanted some piccies whilst horse was looking groomed. So they got some great shots of them cantering up over the common...and some not so great shots of the horse being in charge. OH did forwarn me there were piccies of the type that puts mothers off horse riding. I try not to be risk averse about sport/exercise and keep my mouth shut. DD has posted nice piccies to fb and the Ex has commented already. I don't get why people on holiday would be checking fb, but hey ho.

On the other hand through the wonders of facebook I have seen photos of my new great nephew who arrived today.:T So that is another Christmas present to buy:).

    I've been Money Tipped!
Big dog looks more comfortable again tonight.

We had some neighbours on for 'pre supper drinks' and she helped clear up the nibbley bits. Pre supper drinks is girl talk for supper right?

The neighbours who came here were owed a drink from, well, the first year we were here I am embarrassed to admit, and she had got way dressed up.
