You just need a hinge, but it'll look really odd having a picture hanging in mid-air.
A roller blind might be more practical? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Tv looks odd hanging off the wall too IMO. Hate it. Hate it, hate it.
I should have checked here before buying the painting.:o when will I learn npt is like Olympus and its hubris to make decisions before correct call to godly wisdom?
Anyway, showed for viva's bracket and he said...yep...we'll hand the monkeys some where else ( they will be too big for that frame) so now we get to choose ANOThER art. But it might be for valentines now I think. Have do decide whether another 'poster' or a cheap original. How exciting!!!!
Thank you viva!0 -
Watching the programme on telly about immigrants.... how come they manage to get so many fake documents .... while I have never even found/been offered cheap fags from somebody's booze cruise?0

We knew we wanted that picture any way. We might have bought a size smaller and used that but IMO its a better result. Its too complicated a painting to have smaller.
Its not on display, the original. I could help national gallery with that. :rotfl:0 -

Too late and too much faffing about for Spirit today though. Lots of ingredients you'd need to go out and find/specially buy.

Just seen this. It needs port, OH said we are down to our last bottle and it is nice stuff so we are not cooking with it.
Cooked chestnuts..yuk
I had a quick look at recipes on line...no need to marinade as it is all farmed and young etc. So I didn't marinade it and went shopping.
Turns out it is not farmed. May be a bit chewy.
Talking of chewy..wonder how he is doing post op?0 -
Another routine distraction. Not as scientific as it thinks it is, I'm sure.

Perhaps you could get someone to knit you a little cover for the TV? Like one of these, only not for toilet rolls:No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

One of the wounds was bleeding a bit yesterday and is very uncomfortable (it isn't infected or anything but the incision was made right across the back of the knee so couldn't be in a worse place). I'm supposed to do 2x 20 minutes of walking a day but any walking just opens the cut up. It is annoyingly painful and I haven't managed to get to sleep at all on any of the three nights since (that I have to wear a pair of anti embolism stockings is not helping either but at least they make me feel more masculine).
As a result I have spent most of the days sleeping and am now nocturnal. An unfortunate side effect of this is that I have been awake throughout the entirety of the 2nd ashes test which has not been a pleasant experience.
I have also noticed that, for the last two nights, planes have started coming over into heathrow at 4.30am which is an hour earlier than normal. Perhaps something to do with the air traffic control problems.
So are you going to ring tomorrow and ask about solving the healing/walking problem?for the socks

Sounds awful. I don't know if you accept online hugs - I have a feeling you may be one of those who find them irritating - so consider yourself either hugged or unhugged according to preference. I feel for you with the nocturnal thing; it happens all too easily to me whenever I'm ill or have to work until 3am or something. Hope it gets better soon.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0
