I think I'd like to have venison roasted, so I knew I could taste the full benefit of it and enjoy the meat for its own merits .... but a nice, tasty, slow cooked, casserole.... with dumplings .... is also very appealing.0

Here is what's round the back of my local Lidl.

It appears that most of the time I am not holding my cameraphone straight... most are a tad wonky, so would need rotating 2-3% and cropping. This photo's passable though
I've also got a photo of my left nostril where I'd finished using the camera and had the phone in my hand, but accidentally touched the screen.0 -
I do Christmas lunch every year although there was only 3 of us last Christmas day and there will be 3 of us this year too. We have a 17lb turkey ordered  along with all trimmings only sausagemeat stuffing . I do not make my own Christmas pudding. I am quite happy with Christmas day being quiet as we host/cook through the week.
On 21st we have the husband of our lovely friend and their family over so that will be 10 of them and us 3. I have ordered a 4kg gammon with a pheasant casserole as an alternative. We will eat as a buffet.
On 22nd I am making 4 dozen mincepies for the nine lessons and carols service
On 26th OH's family are coming and there will be 15 of us. I have ordered 5 kg sirloin...the plan was to get it cut up and I would make a steak and ale casserole...but now dithering as we will have a dining table and can add the kitchen table to enable us all to sit together so may change to a rib of beef and have roast.
On 27th I am at work, out with friends that night and on call that weekend.
I may marzipan the cake tonight ready to ice . On saying this to OH he has asked "why can't we have soft icing like other families?":rotfl:
I usually make a snow effect out of icing and decorate it with a wired ribbon bow. It looks fine but if I am honest the icing could cover Chernobyl and keep the world safe from radioactivity forever more.0 -
