Isn't that what outbuildings are for.... collecting stuff until you're passing/fancy the tip?

I'm not only missing pantries and airing cupboards, I'm missing an outbuilding too. I feel quite hard done by. As though I am an extreme outlier on a useful cupboard deficiency index.

This is an area I'd have considered before I narrowed down my area. Here's a house that'd be "OK".... on at £190k as a repo, it's gone for £193k
    rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-28558590.html

    Offer £193,250?

Incidentally, why not get on the books of some EAs in the area you like? One said to me "They are asking £X, but they've just found somewhere they like, and they'll take £Y." Unless you are on their books, you'll have less information than other people.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

That looks lovely from the outside. I'd leaflet that area if you are still interested.

But what the hell have they done to the carpet? Ritual sacrifice?
Looks like dog wee to me.

It's not where I want to be ..... and I don't want to get into any wars. The house has got a lot still wrong with it... I was simply saying that there are lots of affordable houses available in areas I don't want to be in as, for now, I've "chosen" where I want to look.... for a lot of reasons, over many weeks. I've finally narrowed it down and am focussing on one area now, for the next month or so...... perhance to pounce.

I have now drawn up the useful cupboard deficiency index. It goes:

    HIGH:

    me: no useful cupboards

siver: slightly more useful cupboards, but still yearning for more

michaels: at least he's got posh cupboards

nikks: all the indoor cupboard niceties a heart could desire.

lir: not only cupboards but outbuildings - posh alert!

    LOW

Can you tell I'm taking my mind off things? Oh well, time to go food shopping.

PS: I would do you a chart, but I can't because I'm not cleaver.

PN - it's the cupboard I am LIVING in!

I've just got pen/paper and am making a list... I have to go out. Two items on the list so far: Pepsi and baccy. I might just add "something nice for tea" and go out scouting.

Now, I was thinking about the flipping tv thing, and ......what happens to the wires, like the arial cable?

It would also mean we can't fit a DVD in there, which isn't the end of the world, but that's the room big enough for me not to move furniture before exercising when its tidy so would be nice to have ability to put dvds on.

...but you can debate and go through them on here with us.

Lots of different NP house buying experiences to reference and help you decide. OK, we don't know the exact area but any snags we can look at and help whittle down the list of pros and cons.

I am sure LIR had to do some fairly big compromising on location etc as their 'Perfect' farm went out of budget? I may be wrong so apols if I remembered incorrectly.

You could handwrite a note and next time you are in town, pop into a photocopy place an have a load run off. Sign each one in pen...a handwritten note is quite personal too.

What actually happened is that amount we could borrow about halved. Which is frankly, a good thing. IMO.

Ultimately spend would be about the same I guess, though maybe even less, because of the amount we are spending here..

We wanted to be anywhere between west London and roughly wincanton, so really, we are sort of spot on. It was important (then) to be near enough my parents for their old age. We didn't know when we started looking what would happen. It might have changed some things a lot, including search area boundary. This town as our nearest, hmmm...maybe not.....but this county was the forerunner really. Not because its our favourite (its not, I don't find it the most beautiful by a long chalk) but because its far enough away and close enough in.

We would have liked NF for leisure purposes, but too expensive and too busy. We would have liked Hampshire too, but also more expensive.

I think we are medium-high on the index. When you walk into our kitchen it looks like there are enough cupboards but when you open the biggest one it has a boiler inside it. Also, rather bizarrely, the handle on the boiler cupboard is on the wrong side basically on top of the hinge.
