    I've been Money Tipped!
Nikkster I am blaming you.......the contents of my understairs cupboard are now in my pokey hallway.

I have to do a tip run today now too........I won!t have time today to scrub it out, but should make it easier for spring cleaning.

DH and I are going to go through some of his shoes and do a cull too, he had a box of forgotten shoes under there. And I can reach the cat box if I need to take a cat to the vet in an emergency.

I need an electrician to come in soon. I want to do it but daren't try the step ladder and looking up (pressure on spinal cord) and last time DH did it he made the house short out.....

This is an area I'd have considered before I narrowed down my area. Here's a house that'd be "OK".... on at £190k as a repo, it's gone for £193k

I still can't believe I have one. So much so that sometimes when I see it, it even makes me smile! I'm guessing it used to house the hot water tank, so I'm glad it was left when a combi was put in.

The empty space where clutter is now under the stairs is giving me a ridiculous amount of happiness this morning. I'd been meaning to do that for weeks and putting it off.

I loved having one too but the cupboard space has now been filled up with the megaflow cylinder leaving a only a sliver of storage space now.
After reading Doozers post on 'creative use of space' I have found a corner in the new back room to create a laundry room and floor to ceiling shelf unit that works really well without compromising the living space in said room. I think it will have the catflap in it too as there is an existing airbrick we can remove for that.
Only snag is we would have to leave the door ajar for cat entry/exit but that's not a big deal as to put it anywhere else doesn't work as the back of the extension will be 90% glass.

The wall for this new secret utility room will give a nice diagonal wall shape to the room it is going in too. OH dismissed the idea at 1st but has come around to it now :)

Sorry to read this......thoughts are with you too.
Some of the roads have a lot of pylons... see here for one example:

wow that's a big pylon plonked in the street. That'd make your bloodstream almost live 0-0.

One of the issues is that it isn't a cheap area as such.
Have you looked at bungalows? Are they cheaper or much the same?

That looks lovely from the outside. I'd leaflet that area if you are still interested.

But what the hell have they done to the carpet? Ritual sacrifice?

First one's in the "no go zone". That's why they're 25% cheaper for being the other side of the railway lines...... everybody "wants" to be there, but nobody'd dare :)

:rotfl:That's the sort of place I'll probably be trading up to. One day. If I can afford it.

That's it. I am quite happy to give people my opnion and tell them what they should do ..... but trying to make the same decisions for myself is nigh on impossible, because .... the buck stops here.

So I have to make my own choices based on the options right that moment ... or not decide .....

...but you can debate and go through them on here with us.

Lots of different NP house buying experiences to reference and help you decide. OK, we don't know the exact area but any snags we can look at and help whittle down the list of pros and cons.

I am sure LIR had to do some fairly big compromising on location etc as their 'Perfect' farm went out of budget? I may be wrong so apols if I remembered incorrectly.

You could handwrite a note and next time you are in town, pop into a photocopy place an have a load run off. Sign each one in pen...a handwritten note is quite personal too.

They tend to be dearer and often poorly laid out. I'm not against bungalows, they just don't appear in my searches as often as houses do because they are dearer than houses.

Cheapest bungalow on the market at present is £215k and it's right under those pylons, which you can see on street view: rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-39804509.html

Viva, hoping it will all turn out to be a false alarm, but so pleased they are keeping an eye on you.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
