It's never a good sign when you send your metre reading in and the electricy company email you and say......are you ABSOLUTELY SURE? really?
Combination of cake pump running all the time, the heater that RP cannot remember to turn off so we have left on low, likewise heater in RP's room. Plus RP has aversion to turning off lights./not using electric in every room. Likes house to feel ' occupied'.
I knew it was coming, I monitor our usuage.0 -
No offers on property yet so going back for a second viewing - that's a relief was expecting to have to decide on the basis of one viewing. Sounds like there are a couple of other second viewers as well, or alternatively the estate agent is just making everything up!
Vendors are doing our second viewing (tonight) themselves which is the first time that has ever happened. Normally it's just a clueless viewing agent employed by the estate agent to sit in the kitchen whilst you look around. At least I might be able to find out was the gas bills are like this time!0 -

Last time we sold I had to do one viewing agent couldn't make and I was carp as found it hard to sell rather than tell the truth but the low point was where I expressed surprise that the viewer was a local teacher as told her I expected only commuters to be interested as the price was too high for locally employed people - doh!
Good luck!
Car is fixed for 'only' £104 or about 1/3 the price of a new clutchI think....0 -

I've noticed that some of the bramble I've been cutting have new leaves that are opening up. Snowdrops are in full bloom, daffodils are up but not open, and I am sure that some birds are nesting.
I am afraid we're going to have one of those springs where the pear blossoms open up because it's mild and then whammo! Hard frost and no pears.
Everything is earlier than last year, and everything is sodden too... weeds are growing like crazy and are untouchable.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Exactly:(. We should have been using Sunday for spraying some areas,.....but cannot risk water course. Could have done a couple of areas none the less, but......wood needs come first.0 -
Safer to take the net off completely.
People will play safer with no protection.
If you think that, you have clearly never seen the 9-year-old boy next door on a trampoline. He has NO concept of self-preservation at all, and will happily go far too close to the edge at risk of coming off and hitting his head on the corner of the conservatory. He's the sort of child who randomly takes both feet off the pedals and waves them in the air, consequently weaving wildly from side to side, when riding a bike in 30mph traffic. Even when the net was up, it was necessary to make a rule that he has to stay inside the net, and not try to bounce round outside the net on the pads that cover the springs. :eek:lostinrates wrote: »Combination of cake pump running all the time, the heater that RP cannot remember to turn off so we have left on low, likewise heater in RP's room. Exciting! Have you decided what specific points you'll be looking out for on the second viewing, or will you be going with an open-ended "can we picture ourselves here?" sort of question?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

One of the best gadgets I ever got, even though I'm a real luddite. In fact I don't even know whether I should be on a forum. But most people probably wonder about that anyway.:oI have two at work:
1) The wired one at my desk, which is Dell, but as far as I can see they aren't doing it any more, and my idea that getting a Dell wireless one might give the same softness of click hasn't worked, because that's what my ultra-stiff new wireless one at home is.
2) The wireless one in the lab, which is perhaps a little smaller than I'd like, so ideally I'd like a larger one, but yes, I'll try to see if it's got any identifying numbers etc on it, and find out if it's still available.
I haven't had RSI for years, so I'm OK for now, but don't want to bring it back on again. It was bad enough last time!
Thanks everyone.
Update:
I borrowed the wireless one from work and brought it home today to try out. The buttons are indeed lovely and gentle, but pressing the wheel is extremely stiff. This doesn't matter at work, because I do very little web browsing at work, and the only thing I press the wheel for is opening a link in a new tab. It does matter at home, though, where web browsing is one of the main things I do with the machine. So, back to square one.Zag, can you tell me if the wheel is gentle to press as well as the buttons, please?
