Oops. Turning out to be an expensive weekend.
I've just bought my first piece of furniture for the house (not counting what was leftwhen I moved in).

I saw a similar one at Christmas and have been thinking of it ever since. IMG_20140215_13223_edit_1392470565342_zpsy60akkna.jpg
I was probably sucked in by the fact I like the colour (even though it might not stay that colour long term), and I've not seen anything similar nearby. And I was given a 'if you buy today' discount. Luckily I've managed to arrange some sort term storage and delivery ;)

    I like the colour too.

In fact.....if you need somewhere to store it longer term........;).

Actually, its the same colour as my kitchen table I think, and the Boss's study walls! But Much prettier.

    :)

If you are thinking about things long time then its a good sign. :).

Edit: I'd love to see proper beeswax candles on it too. Much more flattering. I think that's a nice but indeed.

Car could not limbo under tree as 'men' were setting to work on it. Turned back and drove a lonnnnng way round to make what is normally a 3 mile trip to the village. DD drove an even longer way to get home though as she had tried another route and kept coming across flooding and trying alternatives. Pity the poor s*ds who have had this for weeks.

We are going to the cinema this evening and have booked the 18.10pm showing as we expect the roads across the downs and into the city will be interesting. Very MSE we used a gift voucher so cinema costing us £1.

My other MSE moment was buying a coat I had previously liked in the local agri merchant - down from £175 to £57.

or more with MSE for not letting you promote a charity? I give to charity and I think you should be allowed to encourage that on here.

Pretty shocking if someone reported you for that!

Hello, Siro ( I hope I got that right!) and welcome to the nice person thread.

What happened to Gen, and you, isn't that shocking. MSE is a huge forum and it doesn't have the resources to vet genuine charities from cons - and there are a few cons out there - so it nixes all referral links and links to charities in signatures UNLESS they've been vetted and agreed before hand.

It's nothing personal, and it's routine to report any referral links outside the forum, or any other links in signatures even if they are charitable.

Again, I hope you enjoy the nice person thread, and feel welcome.

I had a looong night last night, but today's been basically great weather. I've done a lot of bramble clearing - which makes my wrists look even more section-worthy than before - and have also started digging mud and grass off the drive.

Now I am tired, and planning to watch a DVD tonight.

P.S. as I suspected the machete isn't all that much use with bramble clearance - my Elwell Grass Hook is still the best, followed by the billhook.

Think it will have its uses.

Did you download it through overdrive, or did you download it through one click digital?

If it is overdrive, all you need to do is get the overdrive app from the google / android store. You'll need an adobe ID as well, but it's easy once you've set it up.

Don't know about One Click Digital, but I can find out.
