    So sorry.

One of the things that upset me about my grandmother was that she was topped drinking at the end. She always liked a g and t. Or just a bit of g I suspect. And I think she might as well have gone tipsy at the end.

There goes my barn roof! First sheet blown, second sheet flapping. I wonder if they'll all peel off like a pack of cards now.

Now one has gone I sort of hope so.

I wouldn't mind sorting out that barn. I kind of wouldn't mind delaying everything else to sort that else because then heat units could go up there and be less disruptive.

Insurance claim for a new roof?

Oh dear, electrician discovery more problems.

It seems a lot of plug points are on spurs not rings.
He says the cables are in pretty good condition, just the wiring pattern that is odd.

He wants to reduce some RCBs (?) to be safe. In fact he phoned the electricity council and asked for permission to put in 20 amp fuses rather than the 16 that would be recommended for spurs and they agreed that was acceptable.

He's gone for today. Made me promise not to use the toaster, microwave and kettle at the same time this weekend.

I think probably very ott unless significantly more comes off.

It would be kind of nice at this stage though frankly to get it sorted out. It would need to be more than just legitimate though. I am always amazed when people claim so easily for things......

RCD - I thought your kitchen was done relatively recently so surprised it isn't compliant. Elsewhere unless you are running electrical heaters and or multiple hairdryers you are unlikely to trip the rcds/overload the circuits.
    I think....

That is a good point. He hasn't looked at the wiring to the kitchen, but it is on the same circuit breaker as some of these spurs and so the circuit needs to be limited to protect these other points. Does that make sense?

BIL has been quite supportive. He travelled down specially from Manchester last weekend, and we agreed at a meeting to give it 3 weeks and then reassess the situation. It's very stressful, because we really want to help her, but she does her best to resist our efforts. I'm afraid that by now I am mentally ticking off the days.

GDB - so sorry it is like this. What happens in three weeks?

I have slept solidly all afternoon. The effect of the massage. I have not walked the dog, and I have not prepared dinner.

OH has phoned. All of the cake has gone, and he is coming home for dinner. Cupboard love.
