It's quite scary here tonight. Possibly the worst storm so far of the year, and getting worse...

I don't think its the worst we have had where I am , but its just that things have been having on by a thread for a while and giving way I think. My whole roof that's lost a bit is creaking and squeaking in the most alarming fashion never heard before. :(

Spirit, I think you are the nearest NP to DH. :(.

I'm actually quite grumpy. Work ruined tues day and I feel DH should have listened to advice from news and ME saying not to come. He's now saying he's going to get a taxi which resulted in me telling at him that he really didn't get it...taxis couldn't do it either, if a taxi could I could......grrrrr..

The route out towards him IS flooded and where its not flooded its highly exposed it would be foolish.

Sometimes romantic is just pig headed and stressful. :(

It's getting super worrying now. So worrying I am going to sort some stuff out and "get dressed"... thought the patio doors were about to blow out 5 minutes ago! And now there's a draught.... which I am going to wander round to investigate

Edit: All intact here, stuck my nose out the front door for a bit, I can't see round the neighbour's hosue house to the road .... it's all a bit ... well, scarey - and I've always lived alone! Strange noises the wind's making - it's screaming and howling ominously!

    I've ALWAYS hated the wind!

My parents never sent each other cards, but then it's mum's birthday yesterday so wouldn't enter their heads.

    My Dad's too.

If this were my house I could have had spotlights fitted outside, so I could flick them on to see what's happening out there - but it's pitch black and no lights. Used my phone bightlight app .... but you can't really see too much. Inner fence is holding OK.

Shiit - I think the fence just went... off to look

Edit: All seems intact... trouble is I don't have 360 vision .... I don't know what's happening out there, all I can do is hear it - and it's impossibe/impractical/dangerous to try to circumvent the building, especially in pitch dark without good shoes or a torch .... so I just have to sit here, hearing unusual noises

It's kent, but a high part of kent which is exposed and which has lots of huge hundred or more foot trees surrounding it, all in sodden ground...

The smallholding has had five trees down so far this winter...

Pastures, please don't worry about the fences. It isn't safe to go out and look at night in a storm. If they come down, they can wait until morning.
