    They've been found!

Chef took them in (shared kitchen with pub next door) and put them in some water, as he didn't want someone stealing them :)

I have to do something about the drive... I'm just not sure what. It's on a slight hill, and the rain has been flowing down it for months. It's become a river of mud.

    This weather is unbelievable.

We must have had a weeks worth of rain already today.

E: no it would be too messy, I just wanted you to know.

Quite right. He was doing precisely the right thing telling you. I think he deserves a gold star in fact.

Earth wire being live would be an interesting thing to find out by accident...

I cannot lift the lid to the cake pump in this wind and it tripped again earlier.

If it floods the pump it floods the pump. There is really only so much one can panic. My feeling is while our feet our dry in the house and the animals are dry and fed we're doing ok. :).

The crypt often has water in it. It is just higher. The statue reflects in the water . Designed that way and it is lovely (usually).

    Poop.

Just looked out and our dodgiest barn roof has indeed got some corrugated iron flapping on it now. :(
I hate that - I used to have a flappy corrugated roof.
I had a manageable lump of concrete in the garden, 1/3rd of a slab or similar. My flappy roof was almost pretty flat.
I managed to clamber up an adjoining wall and place the slab and another random bit of heavy stone on the corner... worked a treat. It was still like that years later when I'd sold the house

Well I admire the boy for having approached the young pastures. If you were anywhere near as sharp then as you are now, the boy had guts.

He probably lost the puppy fat, the swimming paid off and he had a fab body, and his optimistic brave disposition meant everyone was glad for him when he made his first million.
Unlikely. I didn't mix in the sort of circles were miracles could happen.
He'll have continued to be fat, get some hapless bird up the duff 4-5 years later and is now probably living in a bedsit, ex wife and kids in the council house - and he probably smokes pot.

    I'll see if he's googleable.

Not googleable ... but did find an obit.

What he should have said is that the four wires were specific colours. The three wires didn't have the colour needed, so confusing potentially if the wires aren't the right colour for the job.
