Oh, yeah, now I see where you're going.
It's like the fact that despite them sending out people to fix our overhead electricity line at least once a year for the last five years, they won't pay to put it under the ground ten metres where a neighbor has given them permission to go.
Madness, since it cost them £700 a time to fix the lines.
But, these companies have never shown much common sense.
Ours is exactly going underground. Not that far at all.
It comes above ground to one pole then to us, which is crazy. The pole is five years old and now leans, as the soft ground and exposed site (thanks to us removing trees in part probably) has seem it drop.0 -
To be honest, if I were him I'd just apply and see ( at least if it doesn't cost too much money and/or prejudice future applications). It's fair to say that it's always possible it could go across someone's day on a Friday when they're in an 'approve and forget' mood.
Yeah, it's not very likely he'd get it approved, but it's a higher chance than not trying at all.
I know more than I would like to about convictions, but it still isn't very much (which I'm sure I should be pleased about) - but are there specific crime 'names' or is it more of a narrative thing - e.g. are there separate offences of soliciting the services of someone in a car as opposed to in a building? I first wondered this a few days ago reading the local paper (it's my excuse for looking at what houses are up for sale since I cancelled my zoopla alert) and saw that someone had been convicted for what sounded like a rather niche crime (can't remember what it was now).
I'm not sure whether that even makes any sense0 -

It's foreign, from the sound of it, so it could be either.
In the UK you tend to get the official name of the crime (as in, whatever section of whatever act, or whatever common law offense) and a narrative name that everyone understands and may go into detail.
But, if it's foreign they're just about bound to be different.
Edit: Just reread your post. In England Section 19 of the Policing and Crime Act 2009 introduces section 51A into the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and creates a offence for a person in a street or public place to solicit another for the purpose of obtaining a sexual service as a prostitute.
So, you'd be guilty of an offence under 51A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003,
but it would generally be described as soliciting a prostitute or kerb crawling.
It's not per se illegal to solicit sex in a private (i.e. not public) place, but it is illegal to pay for sex with someone who has been subjected to force even if you don't know that they have been subjected to force.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Well, from experience I find it quite hard to type if my hands are shivering too much“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Definitely! I'm quite excited to have proper internet again (though when it wasn't being capped, my mobile has done pretty well as a hotspot).
Having said that, through a combination of switching the boiler on and off again a couple of times and turning the switch to reset a few more times, I've persuaded it to work again. The boiler is quite tempramental - it last did this on Friday. Whilst I can still get it going, I'm not going to bother getting anyone out to see it (would have to work out who to call anyway, not sure I'd necessarily want to stick to the person who installed and used to do the landlords gas certificate each year).
It's only me, if needs be I can shower at work and I have three hot water bottles. Boiler roulette is pretty much the most exciting thing in my life at the moment too :rotfl:
And I know that other NP cope with worse.0 -

I've said that in my advice, but it's a long way from cheap - a very long way. Think a couple of grand to chuck away....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

DH had to deal with the terms of someone who was 'restricted for legal purposes' (word has left me) and negotiations about whether he should have one or two helicopters from his private fleet available to him, for example, during this period of time. It would of course, be impossible to expect some one to continue normal function with no personal helicopter!.

I think it quite likely I might, by some irony, lose my electric connection tonight, The wind is very sever and my pole has further pitched.
If I'm not around for a few days chances are I'm fine, just warning you....0
