Mine is 7.4p for the first x units and then 4.1p for the remainder. Both plus 5% VAT. I always think of putting the heating on for an extra hour must mean that gas is at the margin so 4.1p. I don't know how much gas I use in putting the heating on for another hour because I've never bothered to read the meter before and after and obviously it will depend on how cold the house is to start.
Which reminds me DS2's radiator needs to go on tonight as he is due back tomorrow.0 -

Probably, prices are in kwh and you hvae to work out how to convert units to kwh.PasturesNew wrote: »Yes it was. When you said SC, I assumed she's also up there in the 1ers.... probably is.

Sorry - cleary my reputation preceeds me, I was merely suggesting that I would not have a guess for reasons of not embarrassing myself on NPT (as if I care about that) rather than I was interested in your lady friend.....
Edit: although I did of course enjoy the fact that the married bit was the secondary considerationI think....0 -
Same for me but then perhaps if I was in the top 1% like the InRates and SCs I would be more motivated to think about work in between leaving in the evening and getting back in in the morning. However I think I may still get the better deal.
Edit: Illumistreets likes neither IE6 (not that unexpected) nor google chrome on my phone so it will have to wait till I get home tonight.
We made the top 1% because we both work and it was based on net income (I think) less council tax.
Anyway we do not live/look/feel like we are in the top 1% of anything.
Illustreets wants me to update something before it tells me I live in a nice place with a low crime rate...if it tells me anything else I will be amazed.
We do have too many road deaths near here though. At the end of September a passenger was killed in the village when a car crashed, and in recent weeks two men were killed in a road accident.0 -
Wage map - hover over and you can see some figures.

Where I live, full-time women get £408/week, men get £550/week, apparently. £408/week would be £21,000. I'd be happy with that! The £28,600 blokes get'd be better, of course0 -
James is coming home on Suday! He's not home for long though as he wants to be back in Wycombe for New Years eve, apparently our night life here is boring compared to there.
high Wycombe? He has my deepest sympathy. I loathe the place, having been to school there for 2.5 years (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

By clicking on it, my preferred area has 2-3 different colours and values. The area I am currently looking at has a Quality of Life value of 29... but I can see that two areas 2-3 streets away have a much higher value.
Half the road we live on is 22 quality of life, the other half is 65. So I'm a bit dubious about the value of those statistics....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I was looking at kwH on my bill, somehow that needs to be converted to the numbers on your meter.
My (inadequate) calculation would be
summer gas useage: £60 a month
winter gas usage: £200 a month
extra for heating = £140 a month £32 a week. Heating on for 42 hours a week = 75p an hour roughly. Massive margins for errors on both sides.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
