Same for me but then perhaps if I was in the top 1% like the InRates and SCs I would be more motivated to think about work in between leaving in the evening and getting back in in the morning. However I think I may still get the better deal.

Edit: Illumistreets likes neither IE6 (not that unexpected) nor google chrome on my phone so it will have to wait till I get home tonight.

I've always gone "above and beyond" in every job, whether I'm paid £14k or more. I've always checked emails, gone in for free, worked free overtime, gone in early, worked late, worked through lunch .... and you know what - it gets you nowhere!

In one contract PM job I was nominated for an award for "going above and beyond the call of duty", which caused ructions as that award was reserved for permanent staff only. I, therefore, wasn't allowed to win it, but was given a nice letter and a mousemat and the reason why explained....

Just popped out to read the gas meter. Used 20 units in 23 days. I need to dig out the bill, or wait for the next one, to check the standing charge and the cost/unit, so I can nail the cost and then use gas as freely as I feel comfortable with once I know how much it'll be per unit

Its different in some positions. When I have worked In 'job' type jobs, with a nine to five type structure, sure, to, leave the woes and stresses their. Other jobs are less easy to do that. Sometimes the rewards that go with the stress are better, So e times not. E.g. Dh's is well remunerated. I cannot just walk out on the animals here because, 'oh, not paid for this' . If it needs doing it needs doing.

Mine is 7.4p for the first x units and then 4.1p for the remainder. Both plus 5% VAT. I always think of putting the heating on for an extra hour must mean that gas is at the margin so 4.1p. I don't know how much gas I use in putting the heating on for another hour because I've never bothered to read the meter before and after and obviously it will depend on how cold the house is to start.

Which reminds me DS2's radiator needs to go on tonight as he is due back tomorrow.

Lj, if I'd had a picture of you I would have shown email chum, or a facebook page. She's a lefty too, and very funny. She likes kind men who will charm her. She's highly, highly intelligent, and an artist who reads, and reads. And her men MUST have a sense of the ridiculous. She once went of a man because he didn't understand what she meant about a place being the kind of house where kedgeree is served. The boss and I knew exactly what she meant, and he didn't so he was out.

I could have a guess but I won't in case I show myself to be lacking in knowledge...plus kedgeree I suspect may have originally demonstrated something in the 70s/80s and may now show something else....
