I got Leeds “You’re independent, and not one to follow the crowd. Leeds’ art and music scene will appeal to you - but also its beautiful scenery and vibrant city centre”

I went to Leeds for my sisters graduation and had a complete blast and the analysis description of Leeds reflects my memories well but I think I may have been wrongly allocated. The drunken food question had no mention of great big dirty burgers with fried onions, melted cheese and week old floppy salad. That is my drunk food necessity.

I love snowdrops… and daisy’s and all those amazing little plants that just appear magically in their own season letting you know where you are in the year.

I didn't know GDB had a mutt. Interesting.

It's mother-in-law's mutt. MIL is staying with us, as she managed to starve herself down to 6 stone, then collapsed. She's got herself to the state where she can no longer walk without someone supporting her. There's basically nothing much wrong with her apart from the emaciation and some fairly mild dementia.

We are doing our best to provide some stimulation and to get her to eat slightly more calories per day than she expends. She, on the other hand, reckons that her role in all this is to refuse food, behave as childishly as possible and be rude to people.

If we had left MIL to her own devices, she would have been dead by the end of January, and I would indeed be the owner of the mutt. As it is, we soldier on, and we can discern some slow improvement in her state. Of course, if she weren't battling against us, her improvement would be much faster.

I shouldn't say this, but it has given me some insight into why care home staff sometimes maltreat their residents. It's immensely frustrating.

[/end of rant]
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Even though I'm not a dog walker myself, I understand the trick is to use a lead. That way the dog stays reasonably near to you. Just going for a walk with a dog and hoping they stay near enough to be within earshot only works for people.

This was a rescue dog, which was never trained to be on the lead. Normally, she's very good at just doing her own thing and following along, but she's become very pampered, and she just decided that going for a walk in the rain was no fun at all.

Doubt the bear was overly chuffed, either.

So did I, although I would never dream of living there again. Once was enough, and that was too much.

Although I appreciate there may be quite a few NP who live in Outer Herts who adore their home town...

Snowboarding tomorrow for the week. Hope you have fun!!!

I plan to come back in tact with no broken bits, just extremely tired and in need of a holiday.

Spirit, you look much nicer than that!
DH gave me a gift this afternoon. A pair of beautiful soft fleecy pj bottoms from tk Maxx. They are so soft its incredible, and I have a vest top that's a perfect companion because its the same colour as the lovely ribbon tie.

I cannot decide if its real love when a man buys your fleecy pjs or a bit of a warning sign.......;)

Real love, I reckon.

Said it was 4 bedrooms but one of the rooms was about big enough to fit a small chair in.
It's 11'x8' - which is a LOT larger than my bedroom when I was growing up, which was 6'x7'.

You must have one wide load of an 4rse if your chair just fits in there :P

I am not enamoured of a lot of the layout, nor that big room at the back with the big bifold doors. All I see there is: big space to heat, big space to kick about in, big bifold security and privacy issue.... and dinner's cooking at the other end of the house so I'd have to go and sit in the kitchen while my pie was heating up as I daren't leave anything on the stove/in the oven "in case"
