I consider that a compliment, that you are only willing to pay a tenner to get rid of meI do. Dog every time. Being allergic to cats might have something to do with it, though.
Thanks for the suggestion. People have suggested google calendar before. Unfortunately, I have got used to being able to assign categories to calendar items so that I can see from the colour coding which members of the family they apply to, and whether I'm ready for them or need to do something before they happen (usually but not quite always this is booking a babysitter). Having all calendar items in the same colour and having to read them before knowing who's going to them would feel like a very retrograde step to me. If google calendar ever introduces anything like that, I'll consider switching. (And no, having separate calendars for the different categories won't work. It's been suggested before.)
I might manage with google docs for word processing, although I'd much rather not. And I absolutely must have proper excel for spreadsheets. I need my vba code to work!
So when we gave the kids their tablets they each got there own Google account and thus calendar and then in the main one that DW and I use we have their events show too and full add edit delete rights and their entries are a different colour. Only thing is the daily email which it sends automatically at 5 every morning with today's events only seems to have events for the main calender.
Also use google docs, great on the go, receive attachment, open into docs, edit or whatever and then either email on as attachment in desired format or even share. I have never had downloaded email at home, even in the old old days when I used the isp one I still always used the web interface.
Only issue is at work all google stuff is blocked so have to use the phone but it works ok.I think....0 -
I got Cornwall !!!!!!
I got Leeds. I thought it was a city thing so Cornwall was a surprise for me.
It never stops raining here. I am approaching my wits end with it despite cheating and going abroad for two weeks until Xmas. I could do it again right now.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Slow cooking pork tonight. House smells delicious....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Continuing the Christmassy meals theme from earlier, my dinner is accompanied by some leftover sprouts (not lingering from Christmas, I should add).
House might smell... errr... sprouty? later :rotfl:0 -
I think I could probably manage a few nice posts and I hate mushrooms. Passionately - the slimyness of the texture turns me, same for prawns.
Thanks for the welcome michaels - see, you lot really are nice
Ladeeda, you are a nice person after my own heart. I loathe mushrooms with a rare, nourished hatred, too. Not just the awful smell and terrible taste, but the slimy texture you mention, too. I don't do prawns, either.
I live in Outer Herts (London), I'm not a scientist, and my dearly beloved is Jewish....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Channel 4 now - Yeti hunting. Including DNA testing of a body.
In October 2010 a hunter, Justin, was on a hunting trip and they saw a creature and he shot it. He thought for a second it was a bear, but it was on two legs - 7-8' tall, 600 lbs he said and he dcided he was going to kill it. But it wasn't alone, 2-3 smaller ones, 3-4' high. He shot one of the little ones, very human like features, eyes had whites.
He had shot a bigfoot, that's the only explanation he's got. He is hoping the DNA test will tell him what he shot.0 -
I got Cornwall !!!!!!
I think it's because while I clicked surfing in the first instance... I changed that to eating contests. I bet if I'd chosen surfing I'd have been given Cornwall. Thing is, I don't like surfing - horrible sport .... but I'd be up for paddleboarding or sit on kayaking.0
