I couldn't manage without the calendar. There's no way I could remember where all three of us are supposed to be all the time if the info wasn't stored somewhere, and I'm much better off with an electronic calendar that I can back up than with a hard copy diary that I would probably lose.

Out of interest, when you arranged to meet up with lir and me, did you just remember when and where we'd arranged to meet, or did you write that down somewhere?
Remembered. I'd never have to write meetings/events down ..... at 1-2 outings per year I never fail to remember :)

I did it again and put cat not dog and hot London.

    I'm just a natural city/country gal.......

Who chooses between cats and dogs anyway. Its like choosing between your son or your daughter, your brother or your sister, your husband and your lover......

Very dear friend of mine who I think you'd get on well with is a Geordie. I don't suggest you move on that basis though. :rotfl:

It said Leeds for me. (That's said I wasn't sure on some of my answers).

    I also got Leeds

You’re independent, and not one to follow the crowd. Leeds’ art and music scene will appeal to you - but also its beautiful scenery and vibrant city centre.

I have all my mail account going to Gmail and use google calendar which auto syncs to my mobile.

It all works very well and you can get your info where ever you are.

I also print off an A4 month calendar for my desk just in case something happened to my google calendar.

Google has so many good aids that it's criminal not to take advantage of them.

Edit: I did try to use google docs instead of the word, but found trouble with text boxes and no mail merge.

The subscription to office 365 is no cheaper to the offer I've already seen. The "buy it once and don't have to subscribe" version doesn't include outlook - versions of office for students haven't included outlook since office 2003. I've been happy to stick with outlook 2003 up to now, but I think I need something more up to date now.

Work provide me with a laptop to use for work, and put software on it for me. They don't help me to get cheap software to use at home, I'm afraid.

We got microsoft Ultimate office years ago, it included outlook 2007. It came from one of those sites that give you a discount for being a teacher or having students in the house. Licence allows 3 users at the same time. I think it was software4students, but it may have been a competitor. I remember it gave the option of paying about £10 extra and having the disks sent to you as well as downloading, which has proved worthwhile now that the original download website has disappeared.

DH had some spice cake from Christmas with lunch). I think its that sort of weekend where Christmas stuff comes to the top of the pile again.

Yep. We had panettone at tea time. Supper of pheasant breasts and shallots but with a red wine sauce we had the weekend before christmas.

Oh goodness...we sound so greedy...bit of comfort eating and distraction going on here.
