    Welcome ladeeda!

I have a problem with the texture of certain fruit and tomatoes.

yet again my printer is playing up. However much I clean the heads, they clog up quickly again and waste even more ink in cleaning. I am considering going back to a black and white printer now that the boys don't have school work to print.

Any recommendations. Currently have an Epson that prints too slowly, but scans and faxes well.

    Thanks for the welcome silvercar

Epson printers? That's a tricky one as I have had several of them - I need desperately to participate on a money saving forum as my previous track indicates a complete lack of money saving techniques. I tend to buy whatever printer is on offer, get replica ink, use it until it starts choking & sputtering, then buy the next on offer printer. That said I tend to buy at about £25 and get at least 2 two years out of each one.
Watching for the good replies you get to this as I have just realised that I could save some money!

IT don't decide what's done, etc, it's management that decide, then IT are told what they're doing.... and IT don't get much input quite often as "managers know best".

That is not my experience at all.

Priorities are core technical systems for the organisation, business systems such as they are, are a much lower priority. IT are restricted by very low levels of investment and, from time to time, national programs of a scale and complexity that can only lead to them over running, overspending and failing.

Where I have implemented/procured largish systems, IT have been collaborative but of necessity have left us to get on with it.

oh I will fit right in then... I dress like this all the time. Practically a uniform in work and makes shopping so much more fun. Occasionally I wear wellies a sloppy sweatshirt and jeans over the top, just to keep warm of course!

We got a dell laser, b&w only but comes with a 700k page cart and does double sided and always works - was also free with cashback. WE also have an epson colour one that rarely works and costs a fortune in ink but does scan and copy as well.
    I think....

The other funny thing about the govt IT is they have a number of moderately well paid staff who spend a fair amount of their days sitting round waiting for models to run, spreadsheets to calculate etc all using kit from about 2004 vintage which could be replaced for about 250 quid a piece (or 500 at govt prices) kit that would pay for itself in about a week in time saved. Even just adding more RAM (from the 512k default ) which would cost about twenty quid would save most people several hours over a week.
    I think....
