Faster Payments is within 2 hours, no charge, and even the Revenue accept that.
I have told all my clients to use that and it seems to be fine.0 -
Went out for a walk with the mutt even though it was raining. I got to the corner and looked back, just in time to see the mutt disappearing back home again. I continued on my brisk walk around the block and arrived back, absolutely soaked, to find mutt sitting in the porch, looking pleased with herself. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

The British Government don't you know is about to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century because microsoft are switching off support for windows xp (although they pulled the plug on ie6 a few years ago and yet we still have that). Anyway as part of the change from Windows xp and office xp/2003 it seems something very horrible is going to happen to all our emails. The latest is that due to 'delays' but given the fixed deadline we are going to get switched but all our saved emails (which we have to do as we have such small inboxes) will not be restored 'for a while' which is going to make working a bit interesting as I normally look stuff up in old emails probably at least 2 or 3 times a week....
Will Doozerboy look after the kids while you are out?
The thing I always find is the rational mind knows all that but the irrational mind still worries which ruins your day. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.
Assuming that there's stuff in your archive you want and you don't just want to use this as an opportunity to bury the past, emails are completely compatible between versions of MS Outlook.
You could save the emails into the cloud or onto any sort of external medium like a USB drive or DVD.
Even if the IT dept doesn't allow it, if they're not competent to move your archive then they're not competent to catch you.
I speak as someone whose direct colleague just oversaw the move from XP to Windows 7 for our company of a few hundred.0 -

Even though I'm not a dog walker myself, I understand the trick is to use a lead. That way the dog stays reasonably near to you. Just going for a walk with a dog and hoping they stay near enough to be within earshot only works for people.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. This is my post of the day today. I did lol.
I walk mine off lead at home and in rural situations , but I wouldn't in town, even if they walk to heel.0 -
....Won't fly.....Iceland?
When my mother did her field work for her master's degree in Iceland, she didn't fly either - got on a boat somewhere near Edinburgh. She said it was a fantastic voyage. Iceland was where she had to go, as opportunities to study the interaction of glaciation and vulcanicity in the UK are somewhat limited...
I had a very, very long day today. Left home about 8.15am, got to Waterloo, spent 2 hours (literally) standing waiting for them to clean up the tracks where someone had chucked himself under a train, got to court over an hour late, did my case, went to Hounslow for a conference at 4pm, and got home at 9.30pm. I'm feeling pregnant in a weighty rather than sicky way for the first time, all that standing and walking about (mostly the standing) has left me with aching feet and hips and back.
So OH is running me a lovely warm bath, then I'm going to take my moans to bed (-:
My darling Mama got the all-clear today from her consultant - she sees him every 2 months to check she's cancer-free, and she is. Yay!
Hope you are all well, NPs!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
