I try not to think about alternative outcomes. Like, as my dad was always at the Doctor, why wasn't his condition picked up at all until it was near the end.... and other thoughts that I can't allow to enter my head. It's done and there are 1001 other things to beat myself up about, without those layers that you can rarely/never get into.

I'm generally ok with things, but (a) this is new, (b) I found it out via twitter, (c) there is mum to think of if she hears of it (d) we were all so undecided about this procedure at the time.

Having heard about it I felt I had to phone the helpline to find out some more. A medical expert is meant to be getting in touch with me.

The site is crashing (400 error / bad request) every time I try to change page, open a new page, post a reply etc.

I cannot believe how frustrating it is, and it's been going on for days.

Going to give up for now.

We are paying them £75 which I think is enough.
That's about what I expect to pay for a new bed when I get a house.

I was thinking people seem to pay as much for a dog bed as I would for a bed.
I wondered if you'd beat me to it...;)

I have been watching the Liberty of London programme on C4 (catch up not live). Have really enjoyed the first two episodes, though it does make me want to go there and spend a load of money that I haven't got.

In the first programme, I couldn't help but think of lir as there were several fleeting shots of bird lamps.

    Anyone else watching?

    I'm impressed by DPD delivery.

I received an email: "Your Amazon order will be delivered today by Rosario, your DPD driver, between 14:57 and 15:57"

Then I go on their website, and I can see where Rosario is on the map. He's a few streets away, and it says:

"Rosario is currently making delivery number 123, you are delivery number 129.
Rosario is approximately 15 minutes away from you."

We'll see if he actually delivers, but it's looking good!

We just moved all our shipping to DPD for precisely the same reason, state of the art tracking which saves us loads of time and hassle....and they cost only 30p per package more than Parcelforce.

Parcelforce are useless when a parcel goes to the wrong depot and have caused us all sorts of customer grief in the past...and in the end, the customer blames us, not the service provider who failed to deliver the 24 hour service we pay them for.

The final straw was the strike that was supposedly cancelled except loads of staff went 'sick' for 2 days and we had no collections for 3 days.
Cost us a fortune in gift vouchers to apologise and we had a lot of very let down customers. It was at that point I researched for a new service and we chose DPD because of the live tracking (which also works in Europe but in a 2 hour window) and we had our own customer experience of their service as asos use them...and DD is always getting bits and bobs delivered.

We also have a daily Royal Mail pick up for overseas and Ebay sales which was sold to us as a 24 hour tracked service until customers started to complain that parcels weren't arriving next day and, on calling them up, she then backtracked and said 'oh no, it's up to 48 hours'. Useless.

We also use a 3rd party site for sending wholesale to more unusual destinations such as Gueadeloupe, Lebanon and Iceland.

We had our 1st pick up yesterday and everything arrived safely and we had no customer 'where is my parcel' messages..heaven.

Our overseas service is even better as it's customs cleared in transit,....filled out all the forms and that will start in a week and is going to save our lives in terms of hassle when sending to USA.

DD built a new website for our new products on shopify and we soft launched a couple of weeks back, most of it is going to the US. REMOVED (which I will remove later)

....had a busy time up in Birmingham and feel exhausted now.

....I can't catch up on the thread but hope everyone is well...sorry to read about the job Gen.
Has PN found a house yet?
