I think TK Maxx was better when it had fewer stores. It was easier to spot the bargains and they weren't as full of garbage as now.
My opinion as well.0 -
We just moved all our shipping to DPD for precisely the same reason, state of the art tracking which saves us loads of time and hassle....and they cost only 30p per package more than Parcelforce.
I also think DPD are the best, though my tracking didn't work today but he was within his time zone.
They are also ok about meeting them for your parcels. Just call the driver and ask where he will be in "x" minutes and meet him there and get your stuff. Handy if your not wanting to hang about half the day waiting on a parcel. Well it's helped me out the odd time.
Try doing that with Fedex0 -

PasturesNew wrote: »My mum had 3 carer visits/day after an emergency rescue... they were useless and certainly not company. 15 minute slots is all you get. They turn up, do the task, tick the sheets in the folder and leave.
I bought some £1 lidded water jugs and left a post it note on the folder to say "when you leave, please ensure water jug is full of water" so mum didn't get dehydrated as they'd make her a cup of tea and leave...... and the next one wasn't due for 7 hours. They still never filled the water jug up.
The carer service wasn't fit for purpose as a sweeping statement. e.g. the "put to bed" service. You got the slot you got - they'd turn up to "put her to bed" any time within a 1.5 hour window, usually about 7pm.... so she'd not want to go to bed, so they'd get her into her nightie then leave her to get herself to bed/up the stairs later alone. Nobody is put to bed after 9pm as carers won't work after that time/there are security issues.
So, there was no point in the "put to bed" service that SS put in place. Same with the "get her up" service. By the time they arrived she was up, dressed and downstairs ..... the emergency package is just doled out and doesn't really fit/work.
Carer visits worked not too badly for my mum, who couldn't get to bed, or up again, without help. My dad was there full time caring for her, but to have the carers do the bed bath etc and get up/put to bed just took a little bit of the pressure off him. She did have to go to bed ridiculously early, but she slept loads more than a normal person, so that didn't seem too troublesome.
"Put to bed" carer visits don't sound to me to be at all suitable for somebody who lives alone, is capable of putting themselves to bed but not mentally on top of things, so I'm not surprised it didn't work out for your mum.PN why not look for somehwere nicer close to Nikksterland which is near to the many layers of inner and outer, greater and lesser Herts and has many advantages.
PN wants to be by the sea.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Not quite got enough to have a choice of houses that'd "do", just a choice of shabby ones with too many things going against them.
Would you consider somewhere further down coast? The reason I ask is I quite like Bexhill on Sea. It is a small seaside town, quiet and retirement rather than brash. You can get detached for under £200k:

Detached, garage, space for outbuildings, nice garden...
I look occasionally at areas for post retirement me.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Poor Doozerdog, my lot go to the place where two of them were born. Because they all go in together, they never seem overly upset - I suspect they enjoy a good bark at the other dogs tbh.I'm generally ok with things, but (a) this is new, (b) I found it out via twitter, (c) there is mum to think of if she hears of it (d) we were all so undecided about this procedure at the time.
Having heard about it I felt I had to phone the helpline to find out some more. A medical expert is meant to be getting in touch with me.
I hope you can get an answer that gives you reassurance, though as you said in an earlier post, you will probably always wonder no matter what you hear.
Before I go to bed, I had to post this up as she just arrived today and I love her....though the pattern took forever to get right but worth it in the end
If only I were several stone lighter, that is fabulous!0
