I tried getting some headspace, it's very useful for insomnia:(.-
More than a brownie point. I was well impressed.

OK - another one for the poll 'Never realised LemonJelly was a band until it was mentioned a couple of pages back'

At some point this morning between 7 when the TV said all was fine and 8.25 when I got to the station first Capital Connect decided to stop running all trains so I have been lucky enough to smaple the delights of Hatfield this morning and get in 45 minutes late. I wonder if there will be any trains home?

Er, I'd heard it discussed on this thread before, and then forgot about it, and then it came as a shock when I found out lemonjelly meant something :D Then I remembered I'd forgotten and was all d'oh.

Does anyone actually read my posts?...:rotfl:

The penny only dropped very recently (well maybe a thread or two further back). Until then I thought the name had something to do with an obscure cult hero from the world of jazz that you and lir might both be into. Unfortunatly I lived in a town dominated by jazz in my early 20s and switched off it compleytely. NIkkster watch out!

Tbc, jazz is not my music. Its dh's.

I can listen and appreciate to some jazz but by no means all. We met through music , but not jazz.

The quickest way to turn me off to a person is the insistence of a genre of music as 'the done genre'. The question what type of anything are you into rules me a little but with music in particular it seems the only possible answer is 'good music'.

The music I like is music that moves me. For good usually
    :D

The kind of music I have a physical reaction to. The kind of music that speeds my breath, makes me sweat, and my hair stand up a little. Or that lulls my tense body into relaxing and softening. What that music is changes with my mood, the time of year, what's going on in the world,p, listen ing to music is an active process.

Very much the bit in bold. I don't want to listen to metallica first thing in the morning. Conversely, on a hot day in the car, Einaudi may not be the thing either.

Music is very mood driven imo. I love music that affects me. What is listen to is very dependent on season, day, time, what mood I'm in & so many variables.

Ditto! Really strong lyrics can impress me, but it's usually the music that drives my choice. Metallica has never featured in any of my lists though:o

There are hundreds/thousands of great songs with rubbish/meaningless lyrics.

But I cannot think of a single song which I like that has great/meaningful lyrics but rubbish music.

I already have! I know His Majesty, King Raam and like it. Got a few of thier songs now. They're OK but not a patch on Public Service Broadcasting.

I mentioned before I don't have a particluar tyope of music I like. I find a lot of rap and rock boring and reggae, and country is patchy. There's plenty of music left. I also check out tracks and live acts on recommendations of others even if it's not a genre that does much for me.

There's treasure all over the musical world. If you focus on following one musical style there's the highest chance of missing some real gems. The John Peel show used to be my favourite radio music show - oddly enough I've never had a chance to check out Radio Six. I need to do that I think.

I re-bought all my old 10cc albums over Christmas.

Somehow all my vinyl LP's got mislaid somewhere over the Atlantic in 2002.

I forgot just how great the lyrics were....

"I'm dancing on the White House lawn
Sipping tea by the Taj Mahal at dawn
Hanging 'round the gardens of Babylon
Minnie Mouse has got it all sewn up.....Come on Pluto
She gets more fan mail than the Pope (Own up, own up)
She takes the Mickey out of all my phobias
Like signing cheques to ward off double pneumonia
Life is minestrone served up with parmesan cheese
Death is a cold Lasagne suspended in deep freeze"

    .....brilliant, pure genius
