Radio One has been good for a few years now.

The breakfast DJ is a bit of a pain to listen to, and Fearn Cotton say's Errrr, between each sentence, but the music on the whole is far better than the dirge they play on Radio 2.

When we talk about music I always feel inspired to go and play it.

I shall have to see if I can dig out lemon jelly CDs later.

I put radio one on a few months ago on a Monday morning and DH and I tried really hard for a few minutes then decided we were old or bitter or something and flicked over to radio four.

We have a bit of a radio 'gripe' in the morning. I love radio/tv news in the morning, DH hates it.

Radio six has grown on me. I have heard some really fantastic new to me music. Its made me excited about music radio in a way I cannot remember being in a very long time, but because I'm not a regular listener I haven't worked out when the exciting times for me to listen are.

I was listening to late junction on radio three last night. For a while. I turned it off. Which might say it all.

OK - another one for the poll 'Never realised LemonJelly was a band until it was mentioned a couple of pages back'

At some point this morning between 7 when the TV said all was fine and 8.25 when I got to the station first Capital Connect decided to stop running all trains so I have been lucky enough to smaple the delights of Hatfield this morning and get in 45 minutes late. I wonder if there will be any trains home?

I cannot believe how FEW people have heard of lemon jelly.

    I can.:D

Er, I'd heard it discussed on this thread before, and then forgot about it, and then it came as a shock when I found out lemonjelly meant something :D Then I remembered I'd forgotten and was all d'oh.

I've bought pretty much every side project they've done too - Nick's Blacksand, Fred's Flashman (also superb!) & the lush Lets Be Frank, as well as his dj mixes.
I'm certain we don't have the other stuff. :(.

Zag, I cannot believe you didn't know! Surely! You're missing out on treasure!

The penny only dropped very recently (well maybe a thread or two further back). Until then I thought the name had something to do with an obscure cult hero from the world of jazz that you and lir might both be into. Unfortunatly I lived in a town dominated by jazz in my early 20s and switched off it compleytely. NIkkster watch out!

Nope, don't like the ducks, sorry. Liked Ramblin'man and a couple other tracks.

I agree- anywhere more remote/exotic would need a TARDIS to get to.

I did once see a job advertised at Seychelles Polytechic. My mate said I should check it's not some technical college in Balham whose marketing department came up with a really enticing new name!

I am a bit of a dweller sometimes. That probably doesn't help.

Did you have a look at headspace?

They even have mindfulness classes in our little town, but 10 minute a day is manageable.

Watch the 1 minute animation. I love the analogy involving the blue sky. I saw it two years ago and it has really stuck with me and helped.

Tbc, jazz is not my music. Its dh's.

I can listen and appreciate to some jazz but by no means all. We met through music , but not jazz.

The quickest way to turn me off to a person is the insistence of a genre of music as 'the done genre'. The question what type of anything are you into rules me a little but with music in particular it seems the only possible answer is 'good music'.

The music I like is music that moves me. For good usually :D

The kind of music I have a physical reaction to. The kind of music that speeds my breath, makes me sweat, and my hair stand up a little. Or that lulls my tense body into relaxing and softening. What that music is changes with my mood, the time of year, what's going on in the world,p, listen ing to music is an active process.
