Just caught up after only 48 hours' absence ... and breathe!!
Hope your knee is getting better, bugslet, and hope your anxiety is better to day Gen. Anxiety attacks are absolutely pants.
Was at a new church small group yesterday evening. Usually it's a bible study format followed by prayer but because it was their first time back this term, they focused on prayer. One lass, in her 30s I think, was talking about her Dad. He's in his 80s and probably only got a few weeks left to live. Her Mum's in her 70s and struggling to stay up all night with the Dad. So desperately sad. They have help and some night carers but she was describing people coming to visit at Christmas - to say goodbye rather than celebrate the festival - it must have been hard.
I'm trying the 5:2 diet. Giving it a month to see how it goes. I like how I can choose which days suit best for the reduced calories, and that when (not if!) I feel deprived then I know I can eat normally the following day.
Surprisingly, I've not felt particularly hungry, weak or miserable during the reduced calorie days, but need to watch for dehydration.
I've gone onto a website / forum for this diet, and there is a link on there to a calorie calculator where you put in details such as your age, gender, amount of exercise, type of job (or similar) and it tells you how many calories daily you should need - and thus you can estimate how many (25%) you should eat on a reduced day.
We shall see ... !!0 -
Rather better today so far, thank you Yorkie1. I can still feel it but it's nothing like as bad as yesterday.
I suspect the anxiety is connected to not drinking any more. I have up a while back and I think I used it, as many do, to control stress levels. Now I don't have that crutch I'm going to have to find other ways to control those sorts of things. It'll take some time but I'll get there.0 -

LiR - has FiR parted company with sadistic boss for good?
If not then "pastures new" should be given strong consideration. The risks of staying in sadistic boss reach may outweigh any downsides to a move of job.0 -

Same firm different practise area. No trouble though. Sadistic boss has seen off two people for definite that DH knows of since.
. ( others have left but could be many reasons ) A few people won't go into that practise area.
. Its really a problem that they let it go on. The problem is, I think, their own politics are taking up so much of their time and sadistic boss's work is well regarded.....though...well......hmmm. Its losing its reputation a little I think. DH keeps his mouth shut ATM but has encouraged victims to seek help and on one occasion gone with them to a partner as a witness, because he new that made the victims case stronger, though the victim didn't know that. The person, like DH, was put in a different practise area. 0 -

Me too! I spent a lot of time on musical threads but hadn't a clue! :cool:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I cannot believe how FEW people have heard of lemon jelly. Especially as its been discussed in the thread before.
I think Lj and I favour different lemon jelly tracks though. Lj might be all about the ducks.0 -
James is now completely back to normal thank goodness, if a little tired after having no sleep at all over night.
He said all the staff at the hospital were so nice and I agree, the nurse who rang me was wonderful. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
