I used to used the walk in centre at canary wharf - it was pretty handy but I can see why they shut it down - because I was pretty much the only person who did use it from what I could see. Never had to wait and never saw another patient in there.

I tend to use google maps street view before I go anywhere as I think in London it is updated pretty regularly. I suppose phoning would be more effective though...

On the google maps subject, I was looking at a street in parsons green the other day and noticed that you could actually go inside some of the shops on streetview. It was Fulham road if anyone else wants to have a look - when you pick up the little man to drag him to the street some of green dots show up on the overhead view and you can then drop the man onto the dot which places him inside the shop. Obviously someone with a google headcam has been wandering around! You probably all knew this already and I am just behind the times.

You can, if you so desire, google walk around the inside of Watford Tesco.

Spot on. A vented dryer is more efficient but needs to be vented, ie have one of those long white hoses stuck out of the window.

I bought my first td a couple of winters ago. I bought.......cheaply. :). Somethings its not worth spending on. We only use it in bad weather or when builders make dust:D

Much, much better to have vented. I don't think you ever get clothes dry enough to wear from a condensing dryer.

We do. And bedding ready straight for the bed, but my heavy flannel sheets do take ALL day.

It also took some trial and error.

I am deeply suspicious of it and won't put lots of things in it. Though, do people put socks in usually?

Back to floors. Can you get a parquet floor repaired? How do you match the wood? Does it look repaired?

We had ours sanded and re-varnished about 5 years ago. It all looks OK apart from the hallway, which is looking scuffed and dirty again.

Assuming we can get matching wood, is it a good idea to have wood floor in a toilet? I know it will be sealed initially, but eventually the varnish wears in places....

One more question if I may, floors then decorate or decorate then floors? I know if you carpet, the carpet goes in last, but if you are doing solid floors I don't know.

I know, I know. I cannot have a posh alert because its NOT MINE :D

I was thinking about Lj spending fifteen grand ona car and that DH wants to buy a decent car this time and that it wasn't worth it to me but a nice cooker might be, which is silly. Although I think its a thing of beauty I wouldn't spend that much on a cooker.

OTOH! There is a lot I would do for that cooker....

After complaints I now tumble dry socks on the low setting only. On the standard setting the elastic tightens or the material shrinks, to the extent they have a fight to get them on their feet.

Hard floors going in are inevitably going to cause some mess and scuffing IMO. Are you decorating or having it decorated?

If the former I'd decorate, have floors done, touch up.

We have just done floor upstairs before decorating......because it was down and I wanted to deal it so it made sense.

Doozergirl will advise, I'm just really keeping enquiry up in hope she sees. :)

Re the car jelly wants. My sil sold the same model last year. Such a shame the timing wasn't better as the tie up would have been beneficial both ways.

The key point is that it was a convertable and it was hard to sell even in summer. Don't want to go into more details online as it is not my info to give, however my feeling is that if jelly wants one, he should sit tight until one comes up at a reasonable price.
