Can be worth it sometimes if the alternative is having to take time off work to go as you can usually find a private GP very close to work if you're in Central London.
Yeah. He could go and see my old GP......but he doesn't want to. We also have a family friend who is a private GP. (To whom he could also mention RPs issues come to think of it) but would rather 'paddle his own canoe'. Which Is fair enough.
He should go private, He would make ME go private :rotfl:.0 -

If I had that sort of space I really wouldn't be in a bother!
Mine is going to be positively pokey for head height and width.0 -

Pretty much
I was looking on RM the other day and when I clicked on streetview on a house it took me into a shop as the postcodes must have matched... bit annoying that was.
You can go in the tardis too ..... and Eden Project's been done years.0 -
I was figuring you were looking for ideas/features .... perchance to find "a perfect fit to copy".... just stuff that works/doesn't.lostinrates wrote: »If I had that sort of space I really wouldn't be in a bother!

I've got a real thing about stairs. Stair size, orientation, turns, different ways you can fit stairs into a space and what that impacts/improves. ...... I should have been a staircase designer ...0 -
In daylight/good visibility, I think I'd settle for sitting in the back, with the siding door open .... looking backwards so I can leap out if anything looks iffy.....
yesterday I also had a reminder that I want to pass on.... that even in the worst of weather you should get out of a broken down car and go up the embankment if your car breaks down. An 18 tonne lorry went over such a vehicle where the lady driver was still in it:(.0 -
I am just linking LIR to that sort of property when they come up in searches .... it's not for me. It's for LIR's design ideas portfolio.PN - go for it. It is lovely.
Where'd my workshop with hammers, blow torches and acids go? And the car. And the kayak ... which I'd no longer need as it's too far from the waterside......so I'd not bother.0 -
I am playing catch up...One of the very few people who use a garage as a garage.
We use our garage as a garage. My poor car is outside in the elements though:(. I think one of the seals may have gone because I had to demist the inside so much today:(:(lemonjelly wrote: »So, in addition to the new school of life books that I do want, Alain de Botton now has this newie coming out:

In spite of the sheer volume of "to read" books I already possess, I had to buy this one. So, I pre-ordered.
That's 2 books I have on pre-order for the first 3 months of the year, & I heard about another book coming out in february I really will want too.
Thankfully I appear to have read approx 20 books since the summer (you know a list is likely to appear soon as a result...) so I am at least trying to work my way through them all.
That Alain de Botton book looks great. I will have to read that. I wonder how it compares to my perennial favourite Flat Earth News. I have only read about 6 since the summer, mostly because of doing research into family history. And one of those was a book about taxes in the reign of Henry VIII...PasturesNew wrote: »I was figuring you were looking for ideas/features .... perchance to find "a perfect fit to copy".... just stuff that works/doesn't.

You could set up in business with my Dad.
