    I've been Money Tipped!
Something odd going on at Waterloo. I'm currently sitting on a train waiting to leave the station - it's sitting on platform 20, one of the old Eurostar platforms which has been closed for several years now. Bit strange...

Hope you get on better than DH who went to the walk in centre he went to following the advice on the Internet to day, to find out it closed down 'years ago'.

(He's not seriously ill, no one worry, hence walk in centre not What ever we call a and e these days)

Even odder than my train pretending it is the Eurostar is the fact that the train's HEATING IS ON IN WINTER. I think that deserves a "!!!!!!?!?!!!!1111".

I used to used the walk in centre at canary wharf - it was pretty handy but I can see why they shut it down - because I was pretty much the only person who did use it from what I could see. Never had to wait and never saw another patient in there.

I tend to use google maps street view before I go anywhere as I think in London it is updated pretty regularly. I suppose phoning would be more effective though...

On the google maps subject, I was looking at a street in parsons green the other day and noticed that you could actually go inside some of the shops on streetview. It was Fulham road if anyone else wants to have a look - when you pick up the little man to drag him to the street some of green dots show up on the overhead view and you can then drop the man onto the dot which places him inside the shop. Obviously someone with a google headcam has been wandering around! You probably all knew this already and I am just behind the times.

    Patches of black ice .

My route to work involves small lanes, this morning one road was closed and I turned right into the diversion and spun across the road due to ice. Fortunately the driver who's path I crossed braked and there was no bump.

Yesterday morning it took me almost 3 hours to get to work as I was caught in gridlock as a consequence of a serious accident on the motor way and several shunts and a car fire.

I kept in mind that I was lucky to be in the gridlock.

yesterday I also had a reminder that I want to pass on.... that even in the worst of weather you should get out of a broken down car and go up the embankment if your car breaks down. An 18 tonne lorry went over such a vehicle where the lady driver was still in it:(.

Well, its all left DH not sure what to do. I think he'll have to phone GP tomorrow and see if he can get an appointment but chances are slim. He might have to go as a visiting patient somewhere in town.

Could go private. My BUPA policy doesn't cover GP appointments but I can get a reduced rate so it costs £50 a go or something like that. Can be worth it sometimes if the alternative is having to take time off work to go as you can usually find a private GP very close to work if you're in Central London.

Doozerboy has some kind of obsession with electric garage doors. We have had actual rows over it as I know *some* people use their garages to drive into, the vast majority just use it as somewhere to put stuff before it goes to the tip. Having an electric door on a bin store is a bit excessive.

An internal door into a useable garage with an electric door, yes, I totally see the point.

When my mum moved she bought a ground floor flat with a garage that had a power socket. We had the garage door fitted with an electric opener. She could drive her mobility scooter in and plug it in to charge it up. Bliss.
