After complaints I now tumble dry socks on the low setting only. On the standard setting the elastic tightens or the material shrinks, to the extent they have a fight to get them on their feet.
Okaaaaay! It all falls into place! :doh:Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

someone was selling a perfectly good looking freezer for £25 on local facebook selling pages this morning.
To buy a freezer they'd expect me to collect ... and I'd have to speak to strangers. To sell a freezer would involve strangers coming into my space and they might want help moving it out .... and/or I might feel guilt if they were manhandling it and dropped it off the steps or something.
There's a lot going on when you buy/sell big items that are outside of my skillset and resources.
I want a regular delivery guy to turn up with a freezer, from a shop, who will bring it in on his sackbarrow and leave. No niceties, no conversation ..... just job done.0 -
Will delete.Thoughts and best wishes heading in your direction, Spirit. Hope it works itself out asap.
Sounds like positive news, Gen. Hope it continues to go in the right direction.
Its so difficult when you know there is only a limited amount you can do for someone else. Just by being there, waiting for when you are needed is a big help though.
Nikkster's written it so much better than I could have done.

You did a lovely job. I didn't see you finish on that thread as I left the boards for a while, so it's lovely to see the finished product. I have never seen so many pics of a renovation!
I lived in a different house back then, but I now live in the mirror of your house. Almost identical. Ours is 30s but it gets mistaken for 50s by most people.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Srsly...they used to do this near the junction of Brixton road and Handforth Road, so less than 100 yards then. Who knows where they were from though, there seemed to be about 10,000,000 traffic wardens in Lambeth.I sent £500 to your old school today. Accepted place for DS
Good stuff! I hear that the head is retiring - that's a shame, he was the head of sport when I was there, a very good teacher and apparently a great headmaster by all accounts (although the bloke he replaced was an absolute disaster).
I may be going back there for an old boys dinner soon, will be interesting to see how it has changed, there has been a massive building programme since I was there.0 -

Yes, posh alert0 -
Spirit, life has been an onslaught no doubt. To me it sounds as if there is quite.....wisdom in knowing how oneself is and reacts and ability to pace maybe.

Knickers and socks always go on the bottom rungs and the inner/bottom rungs, perchance somebody should visit and I don't want any visitor (stranger or friend) to be trying to have a conversation with me while my knickers/socks are 3' from their face0 -
