Keeping it prosaic I hate IT. Internet more down than up last night for unknown reasons (and you lot didn't help by doing umpteen pages), I did have a long multi-quote reply on the go but lost it and i'm afraid it will have to remain so but good luck to everyone with their lives and thanks Viva for your research.
Also made another failed attempt to upgrade OS on DWs tablet yesterday evening and the smart box froze cos of the internet issues so had to power off which means it has lost the firmware hack that makes iplayer work so that will need to be reflashed when I can find the instructions.
Had an agent cold call me yesterday with a pretty positive potential offer from a developer should we get our planning permission, if we do drinks will certainly be on me. Also got approved for a cashback credit card that will mean a 3.6% discount on my tax bill so all good there.I think....0 -

Do they take American Express? I could earn enough Avios for a flight the size of my bill!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. What other big bills can you pay by cash back credit card?
I currently don't have a credit card I'm using, (I have one I don't use because its of no benefit to me) (I know I know) so I need to sort that out. Cash back card...have never thought I spend enough, but mainly because ......not been organised enough with my memory to pay off, but I'm definitely rough d about there now. But, not sure I spend enough to make it worth while?0 -

My tax bill this year was small enough to go through my tax code. Not an auspicious year:(.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Feeling your pain. We paid our staff and the tax man. They all had a good year from us. Alterations required to the business plan.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I'm trying out that fad diet 5:2 thingie. You know, the one where you don't eat (very much) for two days out of the week.
Apparently, people do this crazy thing all the time.

Lovely rennovation.
Thank you. All completely messed up now of course as we still have Too Much Stuff!I think it will be easier to get rid of more when we've finished clearing old home, but in the meantime we've still got a load of my parental china etc that I haven't decided what to do with - don't think the girls are interested in it, but some of it is part of my young days so don't want to just chuck it out or sell it yet... I'm something of a hoarder I suppose.
How do you rate the thermoskirt?
Plumber has found electric wiring behind the skirting boards  so I don't think it would have been an option for us.
We love the thermaskirt.Only rooms without are main bathroom (big towel rail) and shower room (small radiator for a tiny room). One of the main advantages is that it really does seem to heat up the space quickly if you over ride the boiler timer. Main downside is the cost of it! To us it was worth it, as hopefully this is our last home, hence the downstairs shower room for when we can't manage the stairs
. For others it might be worth it in just one or two rooms of a house - it's brill in the living room, but not really needed in all bedrooms. Our main bedroom we would need it, as since the fitted wardrobes were put in space got a bit tight for fitting in a king size bed!
I'm trying to think how our wiring works here. Think on the ground floor it comes down from above because we have concrete floors. So nothing needed behind skirting board (we do have a certain amount of wood skirting in rooms as don't need the thermaskirt all the way round for heat levels IYSWIM).0
