My socks just go on the bottom rung of my airer, with my knickers.

Knickers and socks always go on the bottom rungs and the inner/bottom rungs, perchance somebody should visit and I don't want any visitor (stranger or friend) to be trying to have a conversation with me while my knickers/socks are 3' from their face :)

Likewise (if everything is on an airer) - though not so much of a consideration now I'm not sharing.

New Look in the town centre here makes quite a good cut through (if there aren't too many annoying people to dodge). I bumped into my friendly next door neighbours, so we ended up having a bit of a chit chat. Unfortunately we bumped into each other heading through the underwear section and I ended up stood with a very padded very floral bra about 2 inches away from my eyeball. It was quite distracting.

Posh alerts also come from [a] knowing something exists wanting it [c] actively considering that, given some circumstances/events, it could become a reality without a close relative having to die for you to get it.

Does prostitution not cancel out a relative staying alive?

I know it exists, I cannot help that, but I'll not be spending 27k on a la cornue, (I checked, for cooking fantasy purposes, they seem to all have a gas oven for some reason even if they have an electric hob :rotfl:)

I may be going back there for an old boys dinner soon, will be interesting to see how it has changed, there has been a massive building programme since I was there.

There's a beautiful new Arts Centre and a new house for the Year 7s.

We booked a private appointment and were shown around in the autumn by a housemaster who would have been there when you were there as well (I think we're about the same age?). I have a feeling that the head has let things slip a little bit heading towards retirement, which tbf, I think is an inevitable thing, but the children were all impeccable and the staff were all very chatty, pleased to see visitors. It feels genuine and right for DS. I hope it is.

    You did a lovely job.
At the risk of putting my foot in it, which is my specialty .... I'd like to know what sort of thinking makes somebody plonk the hob slap bang in the middle of a thoroughly useful and useable space.

If I bought a house with the hob there I'd have to move it to another area, say behind, against the wall..... so I could use the big island for loads of exciting things .... like hobbies, tax returns, sorting out paperwork, coffee with friends (bit of a joke that I'd ever [a] have one have one round) .....

I see that hob and I think [1] wasted that big useful space [2] bet that makes the stink/steam spread more easily [3] Blimey, wonder how long it'd be before I ended up setting fire to something or burning something that skidded onto the hob when it was hot.

I think this should be a sticky at the top of the thread. :rotfl:

My dogs won't wake up to go outside. :(.

If knowing it exists and wanting it are the criteria not just having it then.......I'm doomed.

When I think of all the things I DON'T link here. Pfft.

I often want to quote something from this thread as my signature, then realise on other threads people either wouldn't understand or think I was mad.

Actually, that quote WOULD be a funny signature though.

There's so many people on these boards that have signatures I don't understand. You'd not be the first.

There's a space at the bottom of your posts crying out for something to fill it and I, for one, want to know what it's going to say :)

I prefer philosophical signatures. Actually I saw one today on twitter.
