Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for your support. It really is most appreciated. I had to work today then out for a family birthday so only just back online to catch up.

Welcome back. December's whizzed by!! Where did it all go?
  • DEcember always feel much shorter, I think, because Christmas is only 3 weeks in but it feels like the end of the month.

I'll admit that I get caught out every year. I do set out to get things early, but every year without fail I get to now and panic about what I've forgotten. I'm so glad Christmas doesn't move around like Easter as my family wouldn't get any presents. When I look at your trees and hear about everyone's prep I don't know how you do it.

  • There is an Act of Parliament, from well before any of us were born, that fixes Easter on a particular date - I think it's the second Sunday in April. But it's never been brought into force.

Checking whether or not an Act or a section within an Act is in force or not is always a barrel of laughs.

Well, I've ambled out a couple of days, to almost empty places/shops - and picked up a few random bits/bobs ... but no prep. But then there's no food here, no dinner here; dinner's elsewhere. I've to shop for that upon my arrival ... and do some minor gift shopping and wrapping paper buying. Although there'll be a huge storm raging, so hoping ro get everything from one shop.

    I shop like a bloke really ....

As for shopping for Xmas food - there's not a lot to that; it's just a roast, then a few extra things you fancy like sausage rolls, some cheese biscuits and a bag of crisps. No time to eat more than that.

My dad had eight brothers; the eldest had over a dozen children. My mum's side only has two cousins. One's just had a baby. The other's in Oz and is a grandad.

Nikkster's TV's not much different from ours. Only wish we had the quality of the old TV shows father than the drab quantity of shows which are little more than us killing time watching a bunch of sad-acts killing time in some isolated house.:(

Or these weird elimination games where you have to fast-forward to get to the end of a perfectly normal sentence.
