I'm in a funny mood. PN, spread some of that happiness about will ya?

No idea why, but towards the end of this afternoon I went into a pretty annoyed, foul miserable mood. Feel very dissatisfied with pretty much everything I think about at the mo.

So I'm trying to not think about anything....

    Sending cyber hugs your way.

You really should come to a meet up soon. Then we could give you real hugs. :)

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

It's possible, although there's not much within reach of my bed that's hard enough to leave a bruise like that. I probably slammed my arm into a door handle while rushing about being late for something, and promptly forgot about it. Incidents like that don't generally stick in my mind long enough for me to be able to match them to the bruise when it appears.

I will never forget DS (with a suspected broken finger) being questioned a couple of years ago by the triage nurse:

Nurse (to me): I'm sorry but I have to ask, is there any violence in the home?
    Me: No.
DS: What does she mean, violence?
Me (to him): She's asking if there's anybody living in our home who beats you up.
    DS: Yes there is!
    Me: <stunned silence>
DS: She does! <points at 8 year old little sister>
DD: No I don't! I *never* beat him up at home... only at school.
Nurse (to me): I don't think I'll need to report that to social services.

That did make me laugh. Sorry:o

My DH when he was significantly younger, told his adoring little sister to put her tongue out. He then pushed down on the top of her head until she bit through her tongue and was apparently completely delighted that he'd managed to turn her into a human stapler.

We have already beeen warned that under no circumstances are we to repeat this story to our nephews.

Sorry to hear that lj. In the absence of any other reasons, could it be the time of year? I've found the past coupled of weeks a real struggle. I don't think it helps that the couple of weeks before the I was completely socially over-stimulated, and I've gone back to being a bit of a hermit, but I'm ready for hibernation.

Picking up on your previous post, wishing you the best with your issues too xx

TBH in comparison with some peeps on here, my "issues" (if I actually knew what they were) are a walk in the park.

Perhaps I should try stopping being a miserable so and so & focus on the fact that my health is ok, I'm employed, & I'm not really in a stage of crisis.

I'm just annoyed because stuff isn't how I want it to be. Probably selfishly...
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

So I spend 3-5pm saturdays cussing the neighbours in the absence of any evidence whatsoever.
It could be all sorts of things. Drop by one of those radio parts shops and buy a ferrite ring. Wrap any leads through the ring 5-6x and try that. It reduces interference.

And/or, just move the s0ddin' radio into another room/socket.

Any radio station broadcasting commentary of a football match replace that online, as contractually they're only licensed to broadcast it within a specific area, not worldwide.

I listen to the Wolves matches on local radio. As we've (almost spectacularly) fallen from grace across the last 2 years, our coverage has also dipped noticeably.

2 years ago I was able to watch most games online live.

Oh that sucks. Are there any signal boosters available? Will ticket prices fall enough to just turn up every week?

(cross posted with the significantly more knowledgeable pastures)

Last minute thought was to have family outing to the theatre on boxing day. really angry to find that the theatre in question has a few seats left but wants £152 a seat for tickets that are normally £47. If they were touts or agencies creaming off the top I could understand, but still be outraged. But for the theatre themselves to overprice just makes me mad.

I get cross about the opposite. If I want a ticket for e.g. a cricket match at lords I end up having to pay four times face value to a tout or agency because you can never bloody get a ticket at source (because all the touts and agencies buy them all).

I really resent just giving a huge profit to someone unconnected with the sport who is just profiteering. I would far rather the venue itself sold the tickets for their real market value (e.g. By auction rather than ballot).

Ideally the venues would just control the tickets so that only the original purchaser can actually use them (glastonbury is the only place I have ever been which managed to do this successfully), but if the tickets are going to be sold to the highest bidder I would rather that money goes to the venue than some scalper.

Yep. My parents made a point of bringing us up not to take offence easily.

You look fine to me. Young and vibrant and healthy. A lot healthier than your posts on here give me to understand you really are.

The man who delivers my prescriptions came today and said,...'you look....better!' I said ':D I feel better too'. I had a big upswing a few weeks a go. E,g. Haven't used stick or anything. I am finding tens brilliant, in fact I have to get another tens thingy, and not sure what to get.

When the brain is better...all the niggly bits that are secondary either start to clear up or become less important because they aren't so impacting. The question is d I get a few weeks now, months, years? What plans do I make....

    Do I buy a pony?:o

When this happens for me, I always think it's the sign the batteries are on the way out - and what I do is pop out the batteries and put them between my thighs for 10 minutes to warm through.

I did this the other week and the remote's still working.

Warming most batteries will fix them.... for awhile.

Or you can try opening the battery compartment and turning the batteries a few times. I think I learnt that from Eddie Izzard. Usually works a treat.

They price things based on the price point at which they can find the most wealthy idiots.

Everything is being gentrified these days - which just means price increases because there are people who will pay.

You used to be able to get a decent pub lunch for £5, same pub these days is now called a gastro pub and it's £15 and worded fancy.

Slowly ..... you're outpriced on everything. For you, this year, it's a Boxing Day thingy.

I am finding it increasingly difficult to find a big hot dog for £2 at markets ... now they're hand-roasted pulled pork in organic baguettes for £8. No more al fresco hot dogs for me in fields....

Perhaps you need to set up PN's £2 hot dog stall to exploit this gap in the market.
