Love that lamp, not used it/had it on since 2006.
I'd boxed it up carefully - it had been leeching salt as my last house was very damp, so there's some surface salts on it, I will eventually find out how to clean those areas that have discoloured.
I'd wrapped the lamp in a big sandwich bag and sealed it - and the plug separately and sealed it, then put it into a box.... it's heavy, very heavy. Stands about 10" tall.

That's beautiful, I've never seen anything like it. The quality of light looks lovely. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Sent for an email about the salt lamp, he is v. pleased too. Sends happy wishes and little men jumping for joy that pn is feeling happy.

I didn't realise it was a joke - sorry I didn't laugh at you as planned. I know you're older than me, so I thought if you were surprised I was "so old", it must mean you thought I looked younger than I am, so I took it as a compliment. If it was really a joke, does that mean I was being conceited to interpret it that way?
Now you can see how we upset people.... I did intend to complete what I started, but the conversation diverted ....
You DO look younger though, I thought you and LIR were about the same age.... now I'm probably digging a hole there that she looks her age .... but I didn't mean that either, I think LIR looks a few years younger than her age.
I've no room to store this shovel..... I need to get rid of it.
When I was growing up my parents were always saying/joking "we have to take you everywhere twice; the second time to apologise". Of course, we had no idea why... and I never knew what they were on about as I had no idea I was upsetting anybody or being rude.0 -

Don't panic. Neither Lydia nor I are the type to get easily ruffled.
I do look a bit older than my age these days, excess weight does that. ( till you get to the age where it pushes out wrinkles). U nfortunatelybif you lose weight it makes more wrinkles as your skin has been all stretched
One cannot win with aging! My dad doesn't lo great, but my mother does, she looked awful in her forties though.
Edit, and yes, Lydia looks young...no alcohol, no cigs, clean healthy life?0 -

I did consider trading in them - and I looked into importing them, but it all got complex, too complex for me to understand as it involves importing from Pakistan/similar, having a whole container load ... then doing the customs thing etc..... for a vast volume of them. Then I wondered about EU electrical regs ... and never bothered.0 -
I don't think you can beat a snowman in foil though ... or similar Xmas items.... puds, santas, trees ... in foil... hanging off the tree. http://www.sweetsncandy.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/500x500/74610c5d006c5837d89dcb994444a1d8/s/a/santasnowmen2.jpg

Yep. My parents made a point of bringing us up not to take offence easily.lostinrates wrote: »I do look a bit older than my age these days, excess weight does that. You look fine to me. Young and vibrant and healthy. A lot healthier than your posts on here give me to understand you really are.lostinrates wrote: »One cannot win with aging! My dad doesn't lo great, but my mother does, she looked awful in her forties though.

Well, no alcohol, no cigs or drugs, but woefully inadequate sleep. I'm sure I'd look younger and healthier if I slept more. Thank you anyway.I do have great genes for aging though. My mum always looked ages younger than she was (until she got Lewy body dementia in her late 70s) and the women on both sides of the family live to very advanced ages. My grandmothers were 95 and 103 when they died, and I have a paternal aunt who's 91 and doesn't look a day over 70. My mum dying at 82 is about the youngest.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Round here there is a salt chamber where you can go and sit surrounded by salt, pleasant lighting and nothing else.
